4 Foo Fighters - Under You
Another brilliant single, yes it is all about grief and loss but somehow it is also one of the best Foo Fighter songs ever. Yes it does owe a lot to 'Times Like These' but if you are going to dig back to any Foo Fighters period that is one of the best ones. It is so full of energy and spirit. It spend one week at the top.

I was very late to Wayside as I missed them completely until the album came out, don't want to spoil my own list but that is a very worthy #5.

3 Neck Deep - Take Me With You
I said they had another song to come. There are very few new songs that make me sing a long these days but this is one of the best choruses in pop punk. I was singing this at the top of my lungs at one point. Just a band so on top of their game. It spend 2 weeks at number one but was only not longer thanks to one of the songs too come.

If you know me you will know one of these for sure, if you follow my charts you might have worked out both.
2 Hot Milk - BLOODSTREAM
Another sing a long. Pop Punk meets EDM to make the strongest track on their debut album. I was starting to lose faith in them a little so glad that in the end they still had a load of brilliance on their debut record. This is their biggest pop anthem since their first EP and I have played it to death. It spend 3 weeks at number one until my song of the year toppled it.

My Number one song of 2023
Middle Kids - Highlands
Sometimes a song comes along at just the right time with lyrics that hit home so hard. Where did I hear this song, yes The Highlands of Scotland when I was meeting up with family, this was the soundtrack of that holiday for me. Even without that I was already hyped about a new single from the Sydney band Middle Kids, who I fell in love with quite late with their previous album. Just reading now that Hannah is actually from Scotland so now it is hitting even harder. If you are a fan of boygenius you will love this band as well, but they have a much bigger sound but the same "yearncore" vibes. As mentioned earlier a new album called Faith Crisis Pt. 1. will be out early next year. It spend 3 weeks at the top of my chart.

Great to see boygenius high up. That will do well in my chart. I like Middle Kids but preferred Dramamine to Highlands. Neither made my top 100 though.
