This will all kick off after my birthday 20th, as that is the official cut-off most years. The singles list is just about done, not much more coming out and the albums there is 6 albums I want to hear still but 3 of them will be out before the cut-off so 2 will roll over into 2024. The 6th is practically out already, will base it on what we have so far.
Because I am doing both albums and singles, we will rush through the lower halves and focus on the top 100s. I will also give out some awards as well.

As a taster we will have the close but no cigar albums, there is likely to be more to add if the albums I have to hear still are better than these. They are all still 3.5s though.
Just missing my top 200 albums
The Luka State - More Than This
Blonde Redhead - Sit Down for Dinner
Little Dragon - Slugs of Love
The Church - The Hypnogogue
Måneskin - Rush!
The Reytons - What's Rock and Roll?
Do Nothing - Snake Sideways

Looking forward to this, though we might have less crossover this year I can certainly think of a few high-ranking albums we're likely to have in common.

Ha i haven't even thought about mine yet look forward to it as usual I have stopped my retro lists for now, so it is all replaying 2023 albums and tracks now and the end of year lists are starting to come out now, not that mine will have much overlap with Mojo and Uncut, the first two I have read.

These next nineteen albums will get bigger mentions as I really enjoyed all of them and I am likely to play them again, they are either a little of my taste, require to be in a certain mood or just not quite top 100 quality.
120 Gretel Hänlyn - Head of the Love Club
Technically an EP but 8 tracks so I counted it. A very solid 2nd EP, love some, others I can skip.
119 Lana Del Rey - Did you know that there's a tunnel under Ocean Blvd
Her ninth album and will do well in most year-end polls, it was a little disappointing to me, maybe need hr to change things up a bit.
118 Albert Hammond, Jr. - Melodies on Hiatus
The fifth album from the Canadian singer songwriter, enjoyed this more than I expected
117 Starbenders - Take Back the Night
The 3rd album from the Sumerian record's band, a bit flawed but some great moments.
116 Daughter - Stereo Mind Game
Third album from the English indie folk group, never been the biggest fan but this was a solid record.
115 The Coral - Sea of Mirrors
Their eleventh album and a mixed bag, great in places, boring in others, maybe not out there enough for me.
114 The Hives - The Death of Randy Fitzsimmons
The sixth album from the Swedish rock band, great as separate tracks but a bit too much as an album.
113 Jessie Ware - That! Feels Good!
Never got the Jessie Ware hype but I really liked her disco tinged 5th album.
112 Slow Pulp - Yard
A solid debut mix of shoegaze and country rock unlucky not to be in my top 100.
111 SG Lewis - AudioLust & HigherLove
The second album from the UK dance pop producer, not enough dance and electronic music on this list, this is such a feel good record.

110 Beyond the Black - Beyond the Black
The fifth album from the German symphonic metal band, this is how you do this stuff with your tongue firmly in your cheek. Who says Germans have no sense of humour.
109 King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard - The Silver Cord
This is an insane 25th album from the Australian band, did iI know I want dance remixes of their music in my life!! Love this more than anything I have heard by them.
108 The Used - Toxic Positivity
The ninth album from the US rock band who are on a bit of run of form right now.
107 Coach Party - Killjoy
The debut album from the British indie rock band, a very good debut unlikely to miss my top 100.
106 Declan Welsh & The Decadent West - 2
The second album from the Scottish band, some great songs, a couple of duds but never dull.
105 The National - First Two Pages of Frankenstein
The ninth album from the US indie rock band, this album is fine , their next release is much better.
104 Pip Blom - Bobbie
Their third album and a bit of a change of sound, much funkier and pop orientated but still with their usual bite.
103 CMAT - Crazymad, for Me
Second album from the Irish singer-songwriter, I did not expect to like this so much, think she is a potential star.
102 Taking Back Sunday - 152
Their eighth album and I dunno, this is a pretty great album but not a Taking Back Sunday record, it is just a bit odd from them.
101 Beartooth - The Surface
Their fifth album and not what you might expect from the Metalcore band. Caleb is feeling positive and he wants you all to know, it is very refreshing and something we all need. Sadly though this misses my top 100 as it does get a little tiresome.

Ok my top 100 which will look like no critic list I am sure, maybe Kerrang we will see. 100 Semisonic - Little Bit of Sun
The long awaited 4th album, I never realised that they hadn't put a record out since 2001. After writing songs for other people for all that time, good that Dan Wilson has kept some for himself. This album was so much better than I expected it to be. 3.5/5

99 The Silencers - Silent Highway
Another band who have been away a long time and coming back now when so many of their s records featured in my album lists this year was very good timing. This is their 10th album but the first I have listened to in full since 'Seconds of Pleasure' from 1993. The new band from the Scottish veterans was better than I expected as well, not been impressed with any of the bits and pieces I have heard from them in the 21st century. 3.5/5

98 ††† - Goodnight, God Bless, I Love U, Delete.
What is it with long gaps here, the second album from the Deftones frontman following their debut release 'Crosses' from 2014. Much more synthy and electronic than their early record but still with the same dark pop feel. First album to chart in the top 100 reaching #138 in the US. 3.5/5

97 Drop Nineteens - Hard Light
Now we have the longest gap yet and probably on the whole list. The shoegaze band from Boston reform and finally follow up their two amazing records from 1992 and 1993. 2023 is probably one of the best years for a band of their sound to return, and they fit right in with the new gaze and grungegaze artists of now. Like their debut 'Delaware' it is a slow burn but will grow on you more and more, loving the current track "The Price Was High" 3.5/5

96 Gengahr - Red Sun Titans
Finally a newish band. The fourth album from the English Indie rock band, they are just one of those solid reliable bands, they won't change your life or really disappoint. After much hype for their debut record, they are a bit under the radar these days. 3.5/5
