Over the xmas and New Year period, I will be revealing various lists of our favourite songs and artists. Does anyone want to predict their top song and artists for the year and the overall combined retro number one and artist for the year? Does anyone want any specific list for additional information? If I can ask everyone if they can post next weeks chart as soon as possible so I can start crunching the final numbers that would help me a lot. o , Mark , darkstar79 , smokeyb , Whitneyfan , TheThorne , rubcale , raliverpool , Shireblogger , Smurfie, Earl Purple , popchartfreak , Razzle Dazzle , coolchristie2 & Good Old Days

If my top artist of 1991 isn't Queen there is something wrong with your scoring.
I also expect them to have the top 2 of the year, not sure which order but I think The Show Must Go On will be higher if you actually run it to the last chart of the year.,
I'd expect Silent Lucidity by Queensryche to come in 3rd. Monsters And Angels possibly also in the top 5.

Sit Down and Losing my religion have to be right up there for me.

My SOTY is "A Message To Your Heart", but maybe "Love's Unkind" got more points.

Sit Down would have been a lot higher on my chart but it came at a peak time, which started just when "Can You Dig It" and "Losing My Religion" entered on the same week. Silent Lucidity had the advantage of being right at the end of that run and was therefore able to remain longer at #1.
If it were not done points-based then Sit Down would be right up there.
1992 is seeing similar ups and downs - the first couple of weeks massive, then a slightly quieter period in February then March goes massive again. It's quite obvious which act is going to be the biggest of 1992 given how many singles they released, although none of the first 3 are going to be anywhere close to #1.

For me KLF swept all before them, with REM as runners-up.

"Hey how ya doin'; Sorry ya can't get through ..." This will obviously my top song. And probably De La Soul will be my artist of the year.

James' Sit Down was well in the lead at the end of June and will probably emerge as the year's top song.

THE ONES THAT GOT AWAY (or perhaps not....)
Here are some of the biggest songs on the Official UK charts of the year that we didn’t show much love for and most don’t appear on our equivalent countdown of the Year....

Bart Simpson - Do The Bartman (reached number 80) He might have reached number 1 for 3 weeks on the official chart, but he could only reach 80 on ours,
and he scored just 29 points finishing in a lowly 683 position.
Hale & Pace - The Stonk (reached number 36) This song for comic relief may have reached number 1 on official chart, but could only get to 36th place on our chart,
it scored just 84 points and ended up in 458 position.
Color Me Badd - I Wanna Sex You Up (reached number 24) Another song that managed 3 weeks on top of the official chart, but it only reached 24 on our chart.
It did score a respectable 328 points and ended up in 151 position.
Jason Donovan - Any Dream Will Do (reached number 16) He managed 2 weeks at the top of the official chart but only got to number 16 in ours.
it scored just 291 points and ended up in 163 position.
Chesney Hawkes - The One And Only (reached number 11) A 5 week chart topper on the official chart, it missed our top 10 peaking at 11.
It stayed around for a while scoring a decent 759 points and ended up in 29 place.
