Actress Pamela Salem has died aged 80. She appeared in two Doctor Who stories Remembrance Of The Daleks (1988) and The Robots Of Death (1977). She also appeared in EastEnders in the late 80s playing a member of local gang The Firm who owned the wine bar and associate of Dirty Den. www.bigfinish.com/news/v/pamela-salem-1944-2024

Sad news about Pamela Salem.
According to her biography at imdb.com, she auditioned for the role of Leela but after the part was given to Louise Jameson, Salem was given the the major guest role of Toos in The Robots Of Death, the second story to feature Leela.

The Doctor Who production schedules are something of a mess as they seem to be all over the place. I'm not sure what the Doctor Who production team or the BBC are playing at but filming episodes so far in advance (the next series was filmed in 2022 / early 2023) and sitting on the episodes suggests someone isn't too keen on them. The next series is supposed to be airing in April or May and is only 8 episodes long. Meanwhile the 2025 series is now being made. This stop-start scheduling isn't doing the long term future of the programme any good.

Apparently it's partly because if the Disney deal, as it takes a long time to get stuff signed off but also the CGI is proving to be time consuming
Apparently, only one episode is fully ready and could be transmitted tomorrow, everything else is between 95-60% ready but the CGI FX are all in progress. Everything on course for May, they had hoped a year earlier to have series one running in January 2024 but it soon became apparent that FX demands meant that wouldnβt be feasible.

Yeah sad we've lost a few recently another three just gone who appeared in Doctor Who John Savident (better known as Fred Elliott, i say Fred Elliott) who appeared in a Peter Davison story. and Stuart Organ (better known as Mr Robson from Grange Hill) who was in Dragonfire. and a few weeks ago Michael Jayston who was The Valeyard in The Trial Of A Time Lord. R.I.P. to all

6.20pm kick off on the Saturday, meaning the first episode is 45 mins whilst the 2nd one is scheduled from 7.05 to 8pm, so could be 55 minutes! Is this the streaming model where episodes can be as long as they need to be, or just some scheduling shenanigans, I wonder?
