So please send your first song in time for a reveal and start on Wednesday 20 March (the reveal will be at 6:30pm), and also the sing-off song in case you end up in it.

Earl Purple for the non-single round, are songs that were released in one country outside the UK eligible or only if it wasn't released at all anywhere?

Songs sent, this is quite scary when you don't even know who you might be in a sing off with

The general rule for the non-single round is it applies to the UK only. It's difficult sometimes to know how to apply it post-2014 but if it was promoted as a single then it is one.
The rule regarding the sing-off track is that you don't need to send again in later rounds unless you have either just used it or wish to change it.

Songs sent in, and roughly ordered my songs for the rounds. This is where I feel confident of doing well (ok), then I'll see the other acts on weds night, and then the round 1 songs, and I'll be out in Round 2, or panic and change my list of songs and confuse myself! I am very intrigued to see what the line up is going to be though.

Songs sent, this is quite scary when you don't even know who you might be in a sing off with Yes I know, like in a previous series when I had Bon Jovi I used "Livin' On A Prayer" when up against Blancmange because I knew they'd use "Living On The Ceiling" and I'd need to go in very hard to have any chance of beating that, but if I'd been up against Ivana in the first round I wouldn't have needed to use that song to win a sing-off. We've had this rule of not knowing before, and the main purpose is to be ready to put the sing-off up as soon as the results are announced, even if the mentors are not there for the result show. So far I have received 10 out of the 15 entries.

I’m planning on using a contrarian approach this time. For the double elimination rounds I’ll be using weak songs, and then smashing the opposition out of the park in the 50% sing offs. No point wasting two good songs in the double eliminations.

There is no planned formal predicta this year but once I've posted the artist list with the first round, I'd invite everyone (including non-participants) to predict (in PM to me)
1. who they think is behind each act 2. The rank of where they think everyone will finish.
These are always interesting as we go along in the contest to reveal actual position vs predicted position. As some mentor acts with a very low chance of winning, it will show a big achievement if they vastly out-perform their predicted position (although that is often achieved by playing their few big ones early on).

I did umm and ahh about floating the idea of doing a predicta, but I'll be away next week and will have to figure out when I vote, so I decided it was too much effort to bring up .

If you wanted to vote, you'd just have to do it before everyone else and send your scores to a high ranking non participant? But maybe you dont have the time, or you've seen the acts, and dont have the inclination

I prefer not to vote in this contest when I'm running it. In the other contests I ran last year I was also participating so had to vote too, and they were also not elimination contests.
I'd rather remain totally impartial in this edition.
It will be a fair amount of work getting the votes in and adding them up each round and preparing the playlists for the subsequent rounds. I'd like to listen to all the songs because that adds to my interest, but it will be far less pressure if I'm not voting.

It wouldn't be me if I wasn't one of the last people to send my songs in still prevaricating Earl Purple but I'll have them in to you today.
