Why do I suddenly get the feeling that Popular will be a big hit?? It's not getting much airplay yet but I think it'll go top 5 and be his highest charting solo single. I wanna be pop-ular!

So you were a BIG Savage Garden fan as well, seen him in concert at all? I didn't become a fan of Darren until just before 'Insatiable' came out. I heard the Affa album and was hooked from then. So unfortunately, I never saw SG live but judging from the 'Superstars And Cannonballs' Concert DVD, it would've been fantastic to have been there! Darren is meant to be touring in November, so I'll definitely see him then EDIT - By the way, the B-Side to 'Pop!ular' - 'Zero' - is absolutely fantastic. I got my Pop!ular CDs this morning (Yep, 2 days earlier than the actual release) and they are totally worth the money xxx

Unfortunately im not hopeful...i want it to do really well and i think its a catchy song but for some reason stations refuse to play it...and its released this week and a lot of people have no idea!
i think top 10 will be an amazing result and hopefully itll get higher once its been played on stuff like totp and cduk....i got my copies too..zero is a great song...

I think it's total unmitigated pap, rather like much of Savage Garden's music.

Well I guess maybe that was a bit harsh, but I've never been anything of a fan.

This song's a real grower- reminds me of Justin Timberlake or Daniel Bedingfield in parts. Still don't think he'll ever do anything as good as Crush (1980 me) though

I really like it.
The only one of his from Spin was 'Strange Relationship'
It's good he's moving away from releasing ballad after ballad I think.

Sorry to drag this thread up again but it's playing on one of the music channels at the moment and I've just realised I really like it! ;D
Is it me or does he quote the lyrics to M's "Pop Muzik" in it? The bit where it goes "hear me on the radio, see me on the video" etc...
