At the risk of sounding dangerously on topic...
Girls Aloud are certainly no Chrissie Hynde.

I love Girls Aloud and I love this song! It sounds even better than the original with a group singing it ;D I really hope this gives them their second long overdue #1!

I've not heard it yet, but I quite like Girls Aloud so I'll reserve my judgement!

It's a soul-less piece of cheese. Even Atomic Kitten's version of Eternal Flame was better than this. At least they made it their own a bit by changing the beats and things.

Agree with Shellshock. Girls Aloud sing it sooooooo emotionless... I also think the song sounds better with a "rough" voice like Chrissie Hynde. Also the song is about losing or almost losing someone because of drugs... a theme that doesn't fit much with the Girls...
Anyway, I'm sure they'll chart higher than the original (Number Ten, wasn't it?)

Lacking emotion. I *loved* the original cos I was going through a hard time when it was out and my friend gave me a copy of the song, which really touched me. Mind you, I expect nothing less of a Children in Need record, they're usually quite sterile and generic but sell loads.
