Who really is famous enough to claim the title ?
let's say vice-queen ;D
I think the hype surrounding Britney Spears is higher than anybody else ( not talking about quality here)
i wasn't there at the time but i don't think Whitney Houston or Diana Ross or someone else was more hyped
So is it Britney ? or what do you think

I'd take a guess at Mariah. She was incredibly successful in the states for about 10 years, won just about every award going. Shame she's become a bit pants really

Kylie isn't big enough in the USA despite her 3 hits or was it 2 ?
i'd prefer Kylie because she has slightly better music than the other "diva's"
i'm actually no fan at all of any women

but people HATE mariah... most people i know respect madonna, even if they're not into her music... But they didn't, back in her heyday. It's only because she's released so much whiney rubbish the past few years that people have really gone off her. Maybe Donna Summer should release more stuff ;D

Wow, that's a tough one. As far as world impact and sales, I would have to say Britney but she's nowhere near as talented. Mariah wasn't big anywhere but the US and Kylie isn't huge in the States.
I'd nominate Annie Lennox but she doesn't sell that many records. Loads more talented than the other pretenders.

I can't see Kylie being queen of pop as her music is hardly charted in countries like France, Spain, Italy, Eastern Europe, Arabia, USA, Latin America. She doesn't have the genius, the cheek, the personality & the culture that Madonna has. Madonna knows & can debate political, social, economical & religious issues & that what has made her so stong till now, it's not just about music I think. Mariah was HUGE with that voice & that ex husband. She was able to stay at top if she didn't go Hip Hop, that was one BIG mistake. Somehow she has thrown herself into the precipice by hanging around with some thugs & acting like teenagers & throwing her money in useless parties. Her voice was the only good thing she had & now she's ruined it with god knows what..maybe alcohol & smoking & stuff like that & now she' gone for good. I think Celine Dion was able to do it & she was ruling the world after she released Titanic soundtrack. She was wrong to take a sudden long break after doing such a big noise all around the world. The other mistake about her is coming back with a French album & with THAT awful look but then again she lackes personality. I frankly can't see any female singer of nowadays being or acheiving what Madge acheived..sorry! However, I can see Britney doing well in the future, but only if she'll act like she should & if she has the right people around her.

had it not been for Kylie and Stock Aitken bloody Waterman, then the rightful princess of pop would have been Debbie Gibson.
