Busted have won ITV1's Record Of The Year with 'Thunderbirds'. Anastacia and McFly ran them close with 'Left Outside Alone' and 'Five Colours In Her Hair' respectively.
The thing is, every region voted for the same 5 songs. Record Of The Year is meaningless pap anyways.

They eliminate the bottom 5 songs and then take the votes for the remaining 5 for each region (apparently). Some of the voting figures they were giving seemed like total bullshit. The whole thing's a fix.

It's a load of tosh. S Club 7 "Don't Stop Movin'" was the only winner that's even been vaguely decent.
A real shame this year that Anastacia couldn't pip Busted though.

A real shame this year that Anastacia couldn't pip Busted though. It was looking like her and McFly were going to have some fun afterwards...

Well that's Record Of The Year for ya. I think Scissor Sisters should have won it, personally. Yes. Theirs was the only remotely decent song in the final. Naturally, they were one of the first eliminated.

Anastacia so should have won Record of the Year. She was so funny when she did her attempt at a posh british accent and she gave a flawless performance. In my eyes she is the winner.

Thankfully McFadden didn't win but yet again it was a triumph for the band/person withe the most fans rather than the song.

Of the 5 left at the end, McFly did the best in my chart, and Anastacia did the worst of the 5.
I think the peak positions were:
McFly #5 Katie Melua #7 Will Young #10 Busted #18 Anastacia #22
Actually, Busted's new single "She Wants To Be Me" is quite good, albeit nothing that hasn't been done already in the last 4 years. If only they'd done all this before Teenage Dirtbag, it might have actually got me excited.
But come on, at least they're better than Westlife.
