Rock legends Queen to reform Monday, December 13 2004, 07:34 GMT -- by Daniel Saney
Queen's long-fingered guitarist Brian May has announced that Queen are going to reform for a tour with ex-Free/Bad Company's Paul Rodgers on lead vocals.
A UK tour will definitely go ahead, with the possibility of a European leg and a world tour under discussion. The tour will feature material by both Queen and Rodgers.
A statement on Brianmay.com reads: "It really all came about because of the Fender 50th Anniversary gig that I did with Paul Rodgers. We were both so amazed at the chemistry that was going on in All Right Now, that suddenly it seems blindingly obvious that there was something happening here."

I watched that prog on Bohemian rhapsody and roger was banging the drums and poodle strumming the guitar and I thought, all they need is a vocalist and they'll be back on the raod again...

Really? No-one can replace Freddie Mercury. Its like the Stones without Mick Jagger, The Who without Roger Daltry and Chas without Dave!

lol, true, but I guess it would be good to get the songs out there again... I never thought that Inxs should get back together with a new vocalist after Michael Hutchence died, but it was ok...

They could take the vocal track of Freddie Mercury solo material and add their own instrumenal tracks to it, and then release all that material as "Queen".
That's what the Beatles did anyway.

It would hardly work on tour though would it.. btw Paul Rodgers has one of the best rock voices of all time and would fit the bill perfectly..

Don't get me wrong, I think Rodgers has a great rock voice, & I love Free, but no-one can take the place of Freddie Mercury. Its liek the new Guns 'n' Roses on tour - basically just Axl Rose with hired hands. G'n'R are not G'n'R without Slash, Duff, Izzy & Matt

They would be good to see as a tribute band, no one can ever replace Mr Mercury, as long as they don't try should be worth a watch.
