It is interesting to note the apparent increase in the number of songs this year, in 2004 six songs competed in the final. However it has to be stressed that this is a provisional and unconfirmed list of participants
The list of ten songs and acts is as follows: Katie Price - One More Day Lucie Silvas - Long Farewell Alcazar - Mr DJ Rachel McFarlane - I Believe Lemar - Sweet Dreams Manhattan Blue Eyes - Time Will Tear Us Apart 2 To Go - Say You'll Stay Fused - Come My Way Luke Galliana - There's No Other Way Keedie - A Fallen Angel
Katie Price is the real name of the supermodel Jordan, who has been romantically linked with singer Peter Andre, himself a composer in last years' Cypriot final. Whether this is the same Katie Price of course is unknown at this stage.
Lucie Silvas is releasing her latest single Breathe In this month.
Alcazar of course are the Swedish group that came third in the 2003 Swedish final MelodiFestivalen with the song Not A Sinner Or A Saint and have went onto become very successful throughout Europe since then.
Lemar is another contestant from the BBC Fame Academy series, and has just released his latest single Is There Any Justice. If successful he would follow last years United Kingdom entrant James Fox, who was also a contestant on the show.
2 To Go were participants in the ITV show The X Factor.
Luke Galliano has previously been an entrant in the United Kingdom selection. In 2001 he entered with the song To Die For, which failed to make the final four songs that year.
Keedie recently had a duet with Duncan from the group Blue, and had hit with I Believe My Heart.

The UK should withdraw from the ESC. It's a complete waste of time. The actual contest now seems to be the Eurovision Performance Contest and public voting seems to have resulted in quite obvious political voting.
As for The Song for Europe. Nothing to do with the song - it's decided on who the best known singer is.
I was a huge fan from the 70s until a couple of years ago but it has gone downhill rapidly.

Whatever happened to Radiohead doing Eurovision?
I remeber then on The Jonathan Ross show saying they'd do it!

Is it fake, how do you know that? Be good to see some of them having a go, but the voting is just totally ridiculous now. I never knew that Alcazar came from this in 2003!

Look at these years trend(Sertap Erener, Ruslana) n u will see that the Eurovision winner is always someone which make a kind of song which will make people dance to n not soapy ballads. If UK sends a ballad, thers no chance for it to win but if it sends someone who makes pop/dance music with a sweet rhythm/melody that remains in the head, it'll sure win.

I'd love to see Alcazar in Eurovision. If Sweden won't pick them we should give them a chance!

I'd love to see 2 to Go do it. With the right song they might do all right. Alcazar has the potential to win but political Baltic voting would put paid to that. Lemar and Lucie certainly wouldn't lower themselves. Rachel McFarlane and Keedie would be interesting.

The UK does not take Eurovision seriously. A group like S Club 7 might have won, but we simply don't enter that kind of thing. The last few years our entries have been poor.

Even if Lucie Silvas is a grt songwriter n a true talent, she will not stand any chance of winning bcause her song will b a kinda ballad n most voters wont vote for that!

jordan? are you joking?! lemar probably has the best shot, what with being another fame academy reject i didn't mind our entry last year, but it was never the sort of song to perform well

Whilst the list actually looks quite promising, I seriously doubt the accuracy of some of the names on there. However the real trouble with "Eurosong" is that the voting has become increasingly farcical over recent years, all of the old eastern block voting for each other and for some reason we seem to go along with it! The pre qualification last year pointed to trouble when the Danish entry didn't even get through and it was one of the best songs in the competition!
