I'm keen to know everyones least favourite hit. Mine would have to be the ultimate hit with a capital S, Vanilla - No Way No Way (1997). A classic in scraping the bottom of the barrel until the wood has worn away. The tune was a sample of the Muppets - Manamana, the singing (if you called it that) was appalling. It made number 14(!?). The worst thing is I have it, but on NOW 36, they must have been drunk to put that on there. Well, it was the last track on CD 2.

I think that Babycakes has to get a mention in this thread - very rarely have I detested a song so much.

There were much worse songs than No Way No Way which was a bit of a novelty song. I think that may have even reached my chart.
Many of the repetitive screeching dance tracks of the last 7 years would probably get my vote. The worst thing was when I was still single and felt young enough to still "party" and had to hear DJs play that sort of thing instead of the wonderful britpop (which almost everyone preferred anyway). Yes, ok, people danced to it, but they danced to britpop too, and it also gave a much better feeling.

don't know any by name (and don't want to!) but a german euro-dance track would prolly get my vote here. You know the ones, the SAME beat in all the songs with a really bad synth line and a deep male voice (almost always black) screaming 'Oh Ya!' every 8 bars...

babycakes wasn't that good but wasn't so bad either. Unlike Call On Me (Taking a bit of a chorus of a great song and playing it in a loop is not music).

According to some chart on VH1 a while back, the worst song ever is 'We Built This City' by Starship. Now I don't know about you, but I strongly disagree with that.

eh?! that's decent cheese... as for my vote, i'm really not sure... there are some i could name, but it depends on what you consider a "song" there's utter dross to be found in every genre, sadly... indie/rock: the darkness, and recently kasabian r&b: most of the genre, but probably sean paul most of all rap: see above. eminem for the special award pop: the cheeky girls, las ketchup, steps, s club 7... gneeeuuurghhh dance: heavy tuneless trance stuff, or sampled stuff/bad cover versions but the ultimate "oh my god it's not music" award goes to crazy frog
