because they are long overdue.
I think the obvious one is Radiohead - they have had about 15 hit singles.. and they could include the likes of 'Everything in its Right Place' and 'The National Anthem' from Kid A.
Others I would suggest:
Kate Bush (update of the 1986 Whole Story with singles from last 3 albums)
PJ Harvey (although a best of type thing would suit her better rather than the actual singles)
Massive Attack (could be huge with a good new single to sell it)
Morrissey (there has only been a US one 'Suedehead',I think - albeit widely available in UK shops. There should be a proper updated UK one)
Oh Stereophonics and Oasis of course! Unbelivable they haven't had one.
Any other ideas?

Oasis have said they will never release a Greatest Hits until after they have split

They therefore should release a Greatest Hits album by say, Christmas then!

Garbage should definately bring one out that includes all the singles (including the early ones and the promo only ones) and a DVD of all the videos.

A Massive Attack one would be nearly faultless and are a strong contender.
For me, I'd like to see the following release one:
Radiohead (but only when they have enough material to make a double so the two different styles can be seperated).
Beck - would be a decent listen.
Cardigans
Nick Drake - there may be one but I've never seen it...
Fatboy Slim - he's out of vogue but a best of would be a timely reminder of the decent stuff he's produced over the years.
Jamiroquai - I probably wouldn't buy it but they are due one.
Aimee Mann - she has an old one which was a record company effort that she never agreed to, a full career encompassing one would be nice.
Moby

There's a couple of Nick Drake 'collections' - Made To Love Magic and Treasury Jamiroquai is another artist who doesn't want to do a Greatest Hits although his record label are pressing him for one

although they're the sort of band wouldn't want to release a greatest hits, i would definately buy a radiohead one. i like the idea of splitting it into 2 sections. it could be done now. cos there's pablo honey/the bends/ok computer for one section and kid a/amnesiac/hail to the thief for the other.suppose you could include their new upcoming album too here.
there's also tracks on ep's and live albums they could take songs from ie.my iron lung ep/i might be wrong live recordings/com lag(2+2=5) and there's also the possibility of b-sides.
if beck released a GH i'd probably get that too. that'd be a good one

Moby? Greatest Hits? But I have Play already... That's sooooo wrong... Do you not like any other Moby singles? Go, Lift Me Up, Beautiful, We Are All Made Of Stars, Hymn, Everytime You Touch Me, Out Of The Blue are all good...

And Morrissey has released Suedehead in the UK, which was a greatest hits, but pre-Maladjusted.
