Stop The Clocks, out on 20th November, will have 18 tracks, mixture of big hits and popular b-sides all chosen by the band.I for one will buy it and reckon it'll be the Christmas No.1 album. It'll certainly be a big seller.

It's a best of, not a greatest hits....
It could possibly be this years biggest seller. Noel said that the song "Stop The Clocks" is one of the best few songs he's ever written...

It's a double album too.

Is it really? I'd have thought they could fit 18 tracks on 1 cd.... Although looking at all of their songs on my iTunes they don't have many short songs. Champagne Supernova nearly 8 mins, Whatever 6 mins. I'm sure they're both on it...

Ive got 4 of their studio albums (tho ones on tape after a mate copied it for me) but I'd probably still buy this if there was enough stuff on there that I didnt already have on CD. Whatever I havent got naturally, nor any of their songs from the 3rd and 4th albums.
I've got the B-sides album too but it would be nice to get them as part of the whole package, most of it it fits in well with their early work (and in some cases is better).

Good idea I think - I smell a million seller on the way!
I don't love Oasis, in fact I think the Gallaghers are pratts... but they've done some top quality songs, this has the potential to be a great album.

Gallaher said that if group releases its "greatest hits"'s album that means the end of its career. Do we have the same situation with theirselves?

Should certainly be a million seller by Christmas and maybe outsell the Arctics.

Interesting stuff, I didn't think we'd ever see this from Oasis cos I thought they'd veto'd a Best of several times earlier on. Easy money I suppose!

This is the last album of their deal - they are now unsigned and have yet to decide if they will re-sign to Sony or go elsewhere

I think Noel said a while ago that he didn't want to do a GH, but that as the contract was running out the record label would probably release one anyway. He then stated that he'd rather be artistically involved than have a crappy 'best of' put out without his consent - seems reasonable enough.

Yea I remember him saying something along those lines too, which is why this G Hits doesnt surprise me.

I'm going to be rather controversial now but I'd rather have had a straight Greatest Hits than Best Of.Then you know what you're getting, their biggest hits.Admitted they may have done great b-sides but I don't like them mixed with the hit singles.

I don't know how anyone could justify choosing Stand By Me and Lyla over Champagne Supernova and Rock 'n' Roll Star!!

i like "Stand By Me", it is an obvious choice for the best of, but like you say being a best of lets them put in songs like "Rock 'n' Roll Star", "Champagne Supernova" and one of my favourite oasis songs "Supersonic"
