Both are amazing, that's all there is to it. Damien's is a grower but I suspect there's better still on the album. Snow Patrol are lifted immensely by the presence of Martha Wainwright and it's easily the best thing on their album. I just bought the Snow Patrol album - there are a few other good songs apart from 'Chasing Cars' and the new single. Tracks 2,6 and 7 are particularly good but yep no classic.

It is ok and I quite like track 5 if I remember correctly but it just sounds as though they've made a list of all the elements that made their last album popular and stuck firmly to the blueprint... doesn't really sound to me as though any true creativity went into the album at all.

I reckon 'Set the Fire to the Third Bar' was probably not the best song to release commercially speaking. Since 'Chasing Cars' is still very successful in the charts and on the radio - they should have released an uptempo one like 'Eyes Open' as STFTTTB is getting overshadowed by its predecessor. I reckon Eyes Open will be released as a single in the new year though.

I'm not keen on 'Eyes Open'. It all goes along fine until they mention Sufjan Stevens and I realise I'd far rather be listening to him...
