that it makes a comeback at the end of the decade with rock/indie dominating the mids appears to be true. Indie just isn't exciting at the moment for me. It all sounds the same and there's great tracks from Kleerup/Robyn, Freemasons, Sugababes around... I hope the pop wave isn't as manufactured as some of the acts were in the late 90s/early 00s though. Agree or disagree?

Whilst I agree chart indie isn't particularly great true indie still shines above everything else for me. Great singles from The Shins, Hold Steady, LCD Soundsystem, Rumble Strips, Robots In Disguise, Beck, Los Campesinos!, The Wombats, The Hives, Willy Mason, Datarock, The Go! Team, Foals and Young Knives all released in the past couple of months or so.
So much better than any of the sh*te like Razorlight or The Enemy which reaches the upper ends of the chart and Radio 1 playlist.

It really IS true! Disco came at the end of the 70s, PWL at the end of the 80s (together with rave etc), trance was EVERYWHERE at the end of the 90s together with manufactured artists! I've never really been into 60s music, what was around at the end of the 60s?
