Here's a few albums from a few singers, that had great album tracks that weren't released or they released the wrong singles, so post your opinions and other albums that you can think of=
Here's a few of mine, what I can think of so far....
Kelly Clarkson - My December Okay not her finest work, but I think the record company gave up on it too easily, there should have been more singles released from it. Sober Should have been the 2nd single, released in America but bombed, what they should have done is have a music video to accompany it and would have definately put the album back in the charts and the song could have been a hit over here One Minute should have had a proper release not just in Australia with a banging music video this also could have been a hit and Don't Waste Your Time Well an average track at best and the only other track to have a proper music video, although wrong choice as a 2nd single, should have been 4th.
Bananarama - Pop Life Tripping On Your Love was totally the wrong choice for a single, Ain't No Cure would have been a much better choice as a 4th single and would have done better in the charts than Tripping On Your Love which only got to #76.
Bananarama - Please Yourself Movin' On was a good choice for lead single, but Last Thing On My Mind wasn't a great choice for 2nd single, Give It All Up For Your Love would have been better, and Is She Good To You should have had a single release.
Louise - Woman In Me Louise's 2nd album which was fantastic, Arms Around The World, Let's Go Round Again and All That Matters were the only songs released from it, which is a shame because there were so many tracks on that album that were screaming to be released, here's what I think she should have released =
Arms Around The World a fantastic choice for lead single Let's Go Round Again Another fab track, a good choice for 2nd single Shut Up And Kiss Me This should have been a single, quite funky and girlpowerish, much better than All That Matters, SUAKM would have been a great single and been a hit in the charts. Running Back For More Another gem on Woman In Me album, a motown feel track, I love this song. Woman In Me This would have finished the album of a treat as a 5th single.
Martika's first album The first 3 singles were great, but instead of "Water" she should have released If Your Tarzan, I'm Jane and followed that with Cross My Heart and then released Water.
Martika - Martika's Kitchen Love Thy Will Be Done and Martika's Kitchen were great choices for singles but Coloured Kisses was totally wrong, Don't Say You Love Me should have been 3rd and Safe In The Arms Of Love or Broken Heart could have been great choices for a 4th release as well.
Steps - Steptacular I loved all the single releases from this album apart from Say You'll Be Mine which I though was weak, here's what I think should have been released Love's Got A Hold On My Heart Never Say Never Again After The Love Has Gone/Better The Devil You Know Deeper Shade Of Blue When I Said Goodbye
Jessica Simpson - A Public Affair Why wasn't Fired Up released, now that should have been the lead single, the song was a sure fire it, and A Public Affair would have been perfect as the follow up, not the lead single though. and Lover In Me and I Belong To Me could have followed.
Avril Lavinge - The Best Damn Thing Hot was totally wrong as the third single, plus it's one of the weakest songs on the album, and now's she's releasing The Best Damn Thing as the 4th single which again is totally wrong cause it sounds the same as Girlfriend. I Can Do Better and Runaway would have been better choices.
Anastacia's Third album Left Outside Alone and Sick And Tired were great choices as the first 2 singles but Welcome To My Truth shouldn't have been third. I Do I reckon should have been third, followed by Heavy On My Heart and then released Welcome To My Truth
That's all I can think of at the moment, so post some albums and post some album tracks that u think should have been singles

Just a few off the top of my head, may add to it later:
Sugababes - Taller In More Ways All the songs they released were great, BUT it was an absolute crime that 'Ace Reject' was never released as a single! It would have been a much better choice than 'Follow Me Home' for certain.
Travis - The Invisible Band 'Pipe Dreams' was crying out to be a single - one of my fave Travis songs ever and sooo radio-friendly! TBH the big mistake with this album was the huge gaps between it's 3 singles, they could have easily stretched to 4 covering the same time period.
Coldplay - X&Y Not that the album needed any help, but I'll never get over 'White Shadows' not being a single in the UK. I would actually have chosen it over 'Speed Of Sound'!
Scissor Sisters - Ta Dah Again, all the singles released were top songs, but it's a huge shame that 'Kiss You Off' was shoved out after people had lost interest in the album. I'd have released it as the 2nd single, and put out 'Paul Mcartney' instead of 'She's My Man' as well.
Editors - The Back Room The 4 singles released were all fine choices, but there was absolutely no need to re-release 'Blood' after it had already gone top 20! 'Fingers In The Factories' was a very obvious single as it's a big fan favourite; alternatively, 'Someone Says' would have been a good catchy single, or 'Fall' could have been chosen to show a different side to the album.

I agree with you there on the Sugababes "Ace Reject" would have made a brilliant single, I also like Obession either of the 2 would have been great, Follow Me Home wasn't a good choice for a single.

I've just thought of some more =
Britney Spears - In The Zone The 3 singles released from it were fantastic, although even though Outrageous weren't a proper release it was a rubbish choice for a single, Breathe On Me and I Got That Boom Boom should have been singles, it's criminal that they weren't.
Kylie Minouge - Fever Come Into My World was an awful choice for the 4th single, the title track Fever should have been released instead.
Gwen Stefani - Love Angel Music Baby Luxuiours was an awful choice for a single, Crash would have been much better and would have done better in the charts.
Mariah Carey On her first album, Prisoner should have been a single, There's Got To Be A Way was a crap choice.
Rihanna - A Girl Like Me It was criminal that Break It Off wasn't released over here, instead we got the awful We Ride

I agree with lots of Acidburns choices - especially Louise.Everytime I hear 'Shut Up And Kiss Me',I think it could have given her a number one.I'm sure 'Running Back For More' was on the 'Bean' movie soundtrack ,which had me thinking that it was gonna be a single, but it never happened. 'Love Will Bring You Back To Me' is gorgeous and could have been a hit too. 'Prisoner' is my fav Mariah Carey song. Her debut album is solid. Not a duff track in sight (she don't make 'em like that anymore),and 'Prisoner' was just begging to be a single. Eternal - 'Always And Forever'Instead of releasing 'Crazy',they might have scored a bigger hit with 'Never Gonna Give You Up',had it been a single. For me,it's the stand out track on the album. Steps - Step One'I loved all the singles (except 5,6,7,8) but they could have squeezed another hit out of the album.I would have went for 'Love U More',which still remains my fav steps song. Precious - 'Precious'Oh poor Precious. One of my all time fav girlbands.Such a strong album, but cruelly ignored by everyone else in the world. Their version of 'I Count The Minutes' is the best version that I know of (I'm only familiar with the Ricky Martin version - I don't know who was the original). Anyway, had it been a single,I'm sure it would have given the girls another top ten hit . Dannii Minogue - 'Girl' 'Girl' is gorgeous (bar one rubbish track - Everybody changes Underwater Dannii shows that she can belt out a ballad that gives goosbumps - 'It's Amazing' lives up to it's title.lol. 'Heaven Can Wait' deserved to be heard too. Whitney Houston - 'Whitney'80s Whitters rocked !! Love this album, but the best track was overlooked for a single release.I am of course talking about 'Love Is a Contact Sport'.Omg it's dynamite !!

Feeder- "Blemish"- Recorded in 2000 for 2001's "Echo Park". This was mentioned by Grant in a July 2000 interview when the album was being recorded. When the final tracklisting came out, it didn't appear on there, and was planned to be a b-side but was taken off the "Come Back Around" CD2 single in favour of a full-band acoustic version of the afforementioned track. "Belmish" is a fabled song in the Feeder fanbase, and is still eagerly awaited by Feeder fans for nearly 7 years now. The only revealed information about this valuted song, is that it was recorded twice with two takes on the chorus.
Feeder/Real- "Believe"- I found this on a demo tape recorded roughly in 1993 or 1994 when the band were called "Real". The tape cost me 180 quid on ebay, and was well worth it. The song is heavy as hell in the chorus, and calms down in the verses with a neat voodo guitar, bass and neat kettle-drum sounds. The band scraped this as they seen it as "crap" as they lost interest, according to a friend who has contacts with the bands label.
Space- "Love You More Than Football" (album)- recorded in 2000 with a view to be released in the same year or in 2001, with Edwin Collins on production duties. The supposed first single "Diary of a Wimp" only made #49, so their label Gut told them to re-record the album so it has a more commercial sound to it, meaning more sales. The band were having none of this, and the record was held back ,before the album was eventually scrapped and contract with the label expired.
Songs from the album have leaked onto fan forums, the band wanted to release the album, but as Gut under legal reasons own the rights to the music, this never happened. Four of the songs appear officially on compilations released by Gut.
Such an annoying shame, is a great record so badly missing from UK record shops.

Blur - This Is A Low This was, and still is for me one of the standout tracks on "Parklife" and despite not being a single it did get radio airplay and would later appear on their "best of".
Smiths - Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before. From final album "Strangeways Here We Come". Was planned for release as a single but was quickly scrapped after being banned for lyric about "planning a mass murder". Didn't seem to do Mark Ronson any harm, when his version was released as a single years later.
Editors - Fall or Someone Says The whole of their debut album is fantastic and these two should have been singles.

Sugababes - Every Album!Ace Reject definitely I also loved Conversation's Over too, and Open The Door off the new album - they never release these amazing mid-tempo songs that always feature towards the end of their albums. Geri Halliwell - PassionLove Never Loved Me would have been the best single choice rather than Desire off Passion (I think the label wanted a Rachel Stevens sound and it's just not Geri's style). I'm 100% certain it would've gone top 10 Girls Aloud - Every Album!Models, Watch Me Go, Deadlines & Diets... Girls Aloud seem worried at releasing singles after the release of an album (probably the reason their top 10 run has lasted) but in doing so have denied the public some of their shining moments. I fear Girl Overboard, Close To Love and Black Jacks will be joining this list Tori Amos - Every Album!Well, virtually all her best stuff is never released as a single I'm sure Tori fans'll agree. Kylie Minogue - Body LanguagePromises from Body Language - amazing and fresh, why oh why did she go for Chocolate?!!! Madonna - MusicImpressive Instant - it was criminal to release a (dreadful) mix of What It Feels Like... instead of this mega song from Music! Louise - Woman In MeCouldn't agree more with the Louise comments. Woman In Me had loads of great songs, I think the label saw All That Matters miss the top 10, along with Let's Go Round albeit a hit, low top 10 and panicked. Whitney Houston - Just WhitneyTry It On My Own should have been given a chance over here, I think it would've been huge

A couple that immediately spring to mind: Whitney Houston - Whitney Love Is A Contact Sport. Great great song on the album, her record company pretty much released everything but this. I would have preferred this to Love Will Save The Day. Suede - SuedeBreakdown. My favourite one on the album, but the single choices were all pretty strong, and I guessed they had to finish of the first album project with a slighty mid tempo one with So Young. A completely bleak miserable video along with Breakdown would have been exactly my cup of tea. Ace Of Base - The BridgeMy Deja Vu. A lovely summery song, but they seemed to have cut short the singles to two in the UK. It was promoed in some territories, but never a full release. Kylie Minogue - Enjoy YourselfNothing To Lose. I always thought this had "hit" written all over it. PWL obviously had other ideas.

I agree with acidburn that 'I Do' should have been a single release from 'Anastacia' and geriboy's comment on 'Ace Reject' from 'Taller In More Ways'.

The one I agree the most with is Blur This is a Low!!! Also Sugababes should have released Promises from their debut instead of Soul Sound, not sure if anyone has mentioned it... and two absolute classics: Black by Pearl Jam!!!! and Precious Things by Tori Amos (I know I'm biased
