Ooh what a weekend! The magpies win emphatically and my 5aside football team won promotion to the Premier Division last night with a dramatic last minute winner!!! ;D Sorry about the Stags result Andy, hope it didn't ruin your weekend!

Good for you. Stags were just NOT Good enough, or not up for it enough, the again leo Fortune-west seemed to be bossing the ref a bit too much for my liking. TWICE he pushed people in the chest agressively and TWICE he escaped any bookings. Think we may founder now:( I used to love 5 a side, was a right little demon player, LOVED it and miss it a lot, congrats!

I thought of you when I saw the score! The Stags are still in a strong position though so you can still turn it round, but you'll need consistency and commitment from the players. Is Liam Lawrence out of contract in the summer? Playing 5aside on Sunday evenings is a great way to finish the weekend on a high if you win!!

Only 3 players are in contract in the summer, but as we have a young side, then we would get a fee for them thru the bosman ruling. But personally I'd prefer it if we did not lose them, but our tightarse chairman will not offer em a contract til he knows if we are up or down? And yes Liam is OOContract and I expect him to leave and us to receive 200k if we are lucky. Only him and the young fullback Buxton played well on saturday. Some of em looked disinterested, but I guess if your contract is running out soon, you have little self belief?

What you've said about contracts is spot on. Part of the problem Notts' have is that so many contracts run out in the summer, players such as Caskey, Fenton etc know they won't get offered contracts with similar terms to what they currently have so to an extent their commitment may not be enough to ensure we can battle our way out of the bottom four. I guess thats partly why Gary Mills has been trying to bring in all these new signings. The long-term's looking more promising than the short term
