A poor performance for England against Japan. Why do certain players like Scholes and Gary Neville get picked then they are not playing well enough to deserve a starting place in the team! All credit to Japan though, they played some good football!

To be honest, I've never been impressed with Eriksson. A coach who can't decide who's best between Butt or Lampard certainly doesn't deserve to coach a big football nation like England

Morning sweetie, and yes, you are so right, for some reason we seem to have to have a quota of Man Utd players in the team every time, whether they are good enough or not! We'll never win anything with Eriksson in charge.

Yes! Just keep a close eye on them (Man Utd players) & you'll see that they're the worst in the team. Besides, for some reasons I think Becks doesn't deserve to be captain, he just doesn't fit.

Pft, Eriksson's the best manager we've had for AGES. Scholes, should however, be dropped. He is SO out of touch...not scored for over 25 internationals now and his form for United this year hasn't been overly impressive. Give Butt the holding midfield role and put Lampard in in Scholes place. Using Lampard as a holding midfielder seemed a somewhat crazy decision imo. As for Gary Neville, well I agree, he ain't great, but who would you put in instead of him? Sadly he probably is the best right back we've got at the moment...

Playing lampard as a holding midfielder is definitely wrong.as he is great at going forward we need some one like nicky butt or scott parker to play as a holding midfielder.

New formation against france?
GK: James LB: Cole/Bridge RB: G.Neville (who else is there?) CB: Campbell CB: Terry DMF: Butt DMF: Gerrard LMF: Dyer RMF: Beckham AMF: Lampard ST: Owen
Dyer and Beckham to play wide on the wings, lampard to find space behind/make space for owen, butt and gerrard to break down the france midfield/attacking play. Gerrard would be able to go forward too, and the left backs are both attacking, so whichever one is chosen can do well going forward too.
Another option would be to play woodgate, campbell and terry as three centre backs, keep the midfield the same and put Rooney up front with Owen... that's up front up front...

My mate was saying the exact same thing to me in email! The chelsea fullback is not in the squad is he? Gary Neville is usually good I though?
