I'm really not sure about Rooney up front, has he got the right temperament to play for England and does he make a decent partner for Owen?

well who else can play up front Heskey isn't that good but he is more experienced than rooney.maybe Vassell?.or they could go with Owen as a self striker and Dyer and scholes be hind him?

If you play that formation, you might as well put Woodgate in defence alongside Terry and Campbell. And you do NOT drop Gerrard! as i've said: GK: James LB: Cole/Bridge RB: G.Neville CB: Campbell CB: Terry DMF: Butt DMF: Gerrard LMF: Dyer RMF: Beckham AMF: Lampard ST: Owen

Mate woodgate hasn't been selected for england as he is injured, so if he was fit i would put him at the back along with terry and campbell.as for Gerrard i suppose i should have put him in.

well Our main concern is that France are bloody good at going forward so i think we have to try and play a sort of defensive game and hit them on the counter attack.
