Its been reported that David Beckham rejected an 18 million pund move from Real Madrid to Newcastle.
He was quoted as saying " Never in my life would i move there, not after what the toon Army did to South-East Asia "

As far as I'm aware, this isn't anything that Beckham said, but rather what Rodney Marsh said about him, and was consequently sacked for it.
Of course, it could be an urban myth - I never actaully saw Sky Sports last night...

Apparantely, that comment about Toon Army (Newcastle fans?) and tsunami in Asia was made by Rodney Marsh. There was a story about it on the BBC website last night.

Yeah he got sacked for it because it was a shocking thing to say live on TV so short after hundreds of thousands of people horrifically lost their lives and millions more left scared for life.
Pretty sick if u ask me

Sick? Eh? Why? Let's get some sense of perspective. It wasn't a derogatory remark about Tsunami victims, it was a daft joke with regards to David Beckham's intellect. Either this is another example of pc gone mad or Sky were just looking for an excuse to sack Marsh. He was a bit of a crap pundit after all.
