Next time you have a conversation with a Forest fan, see how many of the following words they use: 2 European Cups Clough Money Gates Big Club Platt What Have You Ever Won? I must say they are rather predictable, and are ALWAYS living in the past! *yawn*

I have no idea what you're talking about, so here's a bunny with a pancake on its head.

When was the last time Forest played County?

Notts County 2-1 Forest at Meadow Lane in 1992/93 (I think!)

Obviously we've played since in the (pointless) County Cup!

Never heard of it.
Wasn't there an Anglo-Italian cup once? I seem to remember it being contested by lower-league teams...

Very true robin, but during the saga with County being in admin and going out the football league, how often were the words "Oldest football league club!" used?

Would be 1991-92 when Notts County were in the old Division 1 for their one glory season. But you'd also have played in 1993-94 when both teams were in "new" Division 1 (which is now called The Championship).
Robin, did you turn up at the 1996 play-off final? I was there, and there were about 40,000 Bradford fans and about 5,000 Notts County fans.

Yes, I was there! For previous play-off finals we'd taken 25,000 fans, but we'd played poorly all season and no one belived we would get promoted, or even deserved to get promoted, therefore no one cared to attend. I went to quite a few games that season, and almost used to leave the ground embarrassed! Only a few months later our manager, Colin Murphy was deservabley sacked.

We'd done badly most of the season and were mid-table but a late run saw us sneak into the last playoff spot. We lost 17 league games that season and only had a +2 goal-difference!(mainly thanks to some big defeats, eg losing 0-4 at home to Wycombe).

You certainly deserved to win the final. We were extremely poor, but like I said, we'd played that way all season! We lacked passion and determination, and it was the start of our decline.

I would mention Platt as that's where it all started to go REALLY wrong and money but it's obvious that a club is NEVER going to be really successful for a long period of time, it's just shocking one can fall from grace so quickly, i wouldn't say we were a big club anymore, we used to be, we're a well known club and probably the most known club outside the top 2 divisions though. I'm surprised you didn't put 'chairman' in your list though
