I am SO chuffed at that, I dont care if they put 10 past us, should be 25-30k there, grand day out for our lads, then get back to the league. Nothing to lose at all. After all, we are 89th in the league as they pointed out.

Just as well Man U got a non-league draw as well, otherwise we'd have the whole country against us...

No all-prem ties... but I'm fairly pleased with our draw.

No all-prem ties... but I'm fairly pleased with our draw. Hadn't noticed that... Predictions for BBC games? Don't they show 2 from the 3rd round onwards? Newcastle v Mansfield is definitely possible. The Liverpool and Spurs games are also possible just because BBC love them. I'm not sure about the Man U, Boro and Sunderland ties... I reckon Sky will show Arsenal v Cardiff.

Wow, really exciting, first we must beat Barnsley at home then Walsall at home. And our home form isn't that great.
Still if we beat both of those we'll be in the 4th round.

Hoorah for Mansfield!
should easily be 40,000 at St James for the match, probably more unless Newcastle have a bad Christmas...
as the away team gets 25% of the gate that should be at least £200,000 to £250,000 for the Mansfield chairmans' boat...!

Cheers mate! We may be coming to watch it as well, depending if it is sat or sun and how much it is, so any info you can help us out on would be appreciated robbie! I hear newcastle and sunderland cant play on the same day, so one will be sat and the other sun? BBC do like to show 2 games as well, sat teatime and a sunday lunch, I hope we aren't on the telly, not if we lose 12-0. #biglaugh# Burton v man U will deffo be on the telly, I remember exeter v man u last season.

Great pay day for Haslam!! He must still be bouncing round the room with glee, the blood sucking parasite. However there is one silver lining, there are rumours to unveil our special banner at Newcastle ;D It was unveiled in front of the Sky cameras on friday and Haslam ordered it be taken down, it said, "Haslam - Pay the Money Back Now!" Of course, at Newcastle, he has no power, so hopefully the stewards will be more lenient and let is display it.

After all, we are 89th in the league as they pointed out. You'll get FAR more than that. We got enough to buy Dobie for 500k and loan two players in our cup run last year which was QPR, Peterbrough and Tottenham (+replay) so i'd expect you to get a good 100-150k

WE already have 100k from the run and sky, I have heard 200k mentioned as a figure for the Toon game and that's before tv, if tv show it. Imagine what we could do with that, make a challenge for promotion, or get a new pool/boat for the chairman.

Tickets for the away fans aren't normally advertised on Newcastle's site, but as a general guide here is the pricing structure: www.nufc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/Prices/0,,10278,00.html tickets for league games up to mid-January are now on sale but not the Mansfield match. I suppose the club will be contacting Mansfield to see how many tickets they want before advertising the price. The usual away end is for 3,000 fans but with cup games Newcastle, in theory, have to make up to 25% of tickets available, which is 13,000 tickets. The usual away end prices look like they will be about £30 adults and £16 children, though that is a guess based on where the away fans are located - which is HIGH up by the way - and on wether Newcastle charge the same prices for a cup game (in recent years they have charged a few pound less) www.nufc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/Stadium/0,,10278,00.html the away fans are normally located in the West Corner area (see map halfway down page) on the left hand side
