It was not Barbaro's day at the Preakness Stakes today. First, he jumped out of the starting gate and had to be led back in. And when the gates did open, he pulled up lame and finished dead last, with Bernardini winning the Preakess. I hope Barbaro is OK and they won't have to put him down.

I have no idea what you're talking about, so here's a bunny with a pancake on its head.

Forgive my ignorance...
1. Surely someone won the race? 2. I thought the Triple Crown was to do with the Six Nations rugby championship?

The Triple Crown is the three biggest horse races for 3-year-old colts in the United States: the Kentucky Derby in Louisville, KY; the Preakness Stakes in Baltimore, MD; and the Belmont Stakes, run near New York City. No horse has won all three since Affirmed since 1978; and Barbaro was the heavy favourite to win the Preakness, after his convincing win in the Kentucky Derby.
Hope this explains it.

I didn't expect a Triple Crown winner this year. Didn't have a chance to bet on the Preakness this time round. However, Alex did hit the Derby trifecta this year. *cough* All thanks to his lovely wife. *cough*

2. I thought the Triple Crown was to do with the Six Nations rugby championship? There is a Triple Crown in rugby - awarded to any one of the home teams (England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland) who beats all of the other 3 in the Six Nations.
