Vincent van der Voort out in the first round! He was my pick to win!

He's a guy who I always thought was very good, but doesn't quite have what it takes to win the title. That said, I expected him to get through the first round. Michael van Gerwen is looking sh*t hot, mind.

Van Gerwen out! They're dropping like flies!
You'd have to fancy the winner of Adams v Hankey to go all the way. Mervyn King's a danger as well and watch out for Tony Eccles. He's seeded high but has never really done much at the Lakeside. Maybe this is his year.
Is it just me or does the top half of the draw look much stronger than the bottom half? 2 champions and 2 runners-up in the top half. Just 2 champions in the bottom half...
I'll probably regret saying this in a week's time but with Van Gerwen out, I just don't see anyone from the bottom half of the draw winning the title.

The 2nd and 3rd matches in that draw are the wrong way round. Stompe plays Adams in the 2nd round.

Update: John Boy Walton now has a tache and beard. He's going to win the whole thing. Yes, and he now looks about 20 years older.

A couple of tasty matches there, namely the top 2. I reckon that whoever wins between Adams and Hankey will win the title.

It's the final tomorrow, between Martin Adams and either Niels de Ruiter or Phil Nixon.
