Very true, and it's looking good for him this leg.

I'll second that. One of the best darts matches I've ever seen, and it wouldn't have been that good without Phil. Hard luck to him, but what a great effort.

Great game of darts, best I've seen in a few years. That break did Phil good and nice to see him claw his way back to 6-6!
Bring on next year!

Yep, it quite literally isn't over until the final dart is thrown.

Awesome match. Nixon's comeback was great but I'm really happy for Wolfie. I don't know how he could've gone on if he'd let that one go.
As I alluded to earlier in the week, Adams has always had issues with losing his bottle so he's always going to give his opponent a chance.
At least Nixon gets to come back next year as the last 4 qualify automatically. That means Niels de Riuter gets to come back with his Metallica walk-on!

Oh wow! I just read that Jelle Klaasen, Michael Van Gerwen and Vincent Van Der Voort have all defected to the PDC!

All following Barney then, other than Co Stompe and a few other dutchmen, it looks like the Dutch dominance of BDO looks set to end.

Mervyn King was also linked with the PDC until he reached the last four of the World Championship, meaning that he has to return to the Lakeside next year. The PDC appears to be where it's at though. They have more televised tournaments and seem to offer more prize money.

King should go to the PDC. He'd fit in well with w*nkers like Manley and Mason.

I quite like Mervyn King but I hate the way that he spits his dummy out sometimes.

Martin Adams has challenged Barney to a Champions showdown.
Phil Taylor who played Barney in the same circumstances (when he was in the BDO) in 1999 I think it was, Taylor won 21-10.
In 2004 Taylor won by default against Andy Fordham - he was 5-2 up at the time Fordham retired.
I would expect Barney to win comfortably - judging by the quality of both finals this year.
I'd be happy to watch it - as long as it is not on Sky PPV.
Klaasen, MVG, & Van Der Voort all play in their 1st PDC event in Gibraltar in a few days time. They all have to play decent PDC players in rnd1 and I wouldn't be surprised if all 3 get knocked out in round 1.

I don't know. They can all be very decent players when they're on their game, particularly Van Gerwen. Having said that Van Der Voort is very erratic at the best of times.
