Although the shock endings in both Carrie and Nightmare on Elm street both are well regarded by some, I think they really give the whole movie a tacky feel to it.

In which version? In the one i saw which was the original it ends with these survivors spelling out Help with sheets and this helicopter (i think) flying overhead...really left too much unanswered...really lame

yeah, the 28 days later ending's a bit weak (and the alternative ending's just hilarious)...that said, it's a jolly good film...

I didn't mind the "28 Days Later" ending. Frustrating, but not awful.
The "Carrie" ending was crap though. Ruined the whole thing for me.
