Went to see this film today.
It's a Ridley Scott film, and stars Orlando Bloom, Jeremy Irons and Liam Neeson.
I'd recommend it to anyone. It tells the true story of the crusades in Jerusalem like never depicted before. It has some very violent scenes, with plenty of blood and fire in the battles. You would almost think that they are real.
I liked to give credit to Ridley Scott for the way he directed the film, it portrays a balanced view of both sides of the story!

There's been a furore about the film, with the links to modern day events, but if you say it has a fair view for both sides, then it sounds ok... I studied the crusades, and god the Christians were arses back then, convert the infidel or kill him, and there were some bloody slaughters in besieged towns and cities...

If you studied the crusades then you really should see the film. Yes, you're correct, the Christians were arses, but much of it was down to the corruption and greed of a few.

IT WAS sh*te! So boring! There was so much tripe in it. The storyline was just ..wvoooooofff...out the window, I think they made it as hard to follow as possible. The only thing that was good about this film were the special effects. The shots of Jerusalem were great, but other than that, if you want to see Orlando Bloom for 2 and a half hours stroking a branch and saying lines like "I fight for (insert moral obligation here)" and "These people are (insert emotional adjectives here"...you can guess the rest. Absolute crap.

Absolute crap. Kingdom of Heaven is the 1st film I've seen in English from start to end, all the films I've seen before were dubbed in French. I have to say my english isn't the best , that I understood about 90% of what's been said (struggled with Jeremy Irons' accent) but still the film was very clear & easy to understand I wonder if we're talking about the same film
