This is one of the best films I've seen in a long time. It combines fantasy and fairytales with the harshness of the Spanish Civil War. The story is of a young girl trapped in an unhappy life with her heavily pregnant and sick mother and her "evil" step-father, a Facist Army Captain, with a liking for brutality. She comes upon a Labyrinth, where she meets a Faun who gives her a number of scary and dangerous tasks to prove she is the missing Princess of a long forgotten world. The acting is brilliant, you really hate her step-father, while the animation and special effects are top class! The reason it's not had a more widespread release is because it's in Spanish, with English subtitles, but it beats any English language film I've seen for yours! Watch it if you get the chance!!!

This is one of the best films I've seen in a long time. That's exactly what I wanted to say. Very brutal but very emotional. I will never forget this film. That's the first time in my life I had a nightmare after watching the film with villain from it...

Can't forget the scene where he kills a man with a winebottle. It made me really sick. The film shows that human can be much more frightful than any monstrous demons...
