This chart was actually compiled on time (Thursday night) it's just taken me a while to post it, but in any case you will not see the next one published until after the 9 days, so it will probably be a week late.
A bit of a "slow down" around this time of year, and that has allowed 2 big hits from last year to enter when usually I would have ignored them.
Belle & Sebastian fail to reach the top this week and look like they might have to content themselves with only a #2 hit this time. If Morrissey can replace Bell X1 then it will be a "sandwich" (i.e. where an artist replaces the one that replaced them). There have been many of these in the past, including a double-layer sandwich in 1989 where the #1 went from the Beautiful South to Debbie Gibson then the Lightning Seeds, back to Debbie Gibson and back to the Beautiful South.
Among the others to enter, Ben Kweller removes himself from the "one hit wonder" list. He previously had a #1 hit in 2002 called "Wasted & Ready". Reality TV show winners Will Young and Girls Aloud both chart.
