A chart record broken this week - Akira The Don's 40-place climb is the new biggest climb within the chart ever.
They will therefore be challenging Muse and Morrissey at the top next week. "John The Baptist" namechecks Morrissey so we could be seeing a battle between an artist and another song that namechecks them. It has never happened previously that such songs held the #1 and #2 position, and Muse will be hoping that doesn't happen next week.
Muse's only previous NM #1 was the re-issue of "Muscle Museum" in 2000, which had originally peaked at #2 right near the beginning of the year, so that, like this time, they may have resigned themselves to it being an NM #2 hit but it did get them to #1. It lasted just 1 week on top, but they have had two NM #1 albums that managed 4 months each at #1.
