I did this last year but don't think I posted it here and thought I may aswell do it again. This year, 62 of last years top 100 remain and 38 of them drop out, the highest being The Prodigy's "No Good (Start The Dance)" from no. 33. Of the new entries, I'd say about half is stuff I've discovered in the past year/grown on me in the past year and about half is stuff I never owned a year ago and therefore weren't eligible. The majority of songs in the countdown are from the '90s and '00s but then as it's the time I've grown up in it's no surprise. 1992 is the only year I've been alive that isn't represented.
A full breakdown of the years included:
1965 - 1 1971 - 1 1978 - 1 1979 - 1 1980 - 3 1981 - 1 1983 - 1 1984 - 1 1985 - 1 1986 - 1 1987 - 1 1988 - 1 1989 - 6 1990 - 3 1991 - 1 1993 - 1 1994 - 8 1995 - 5 1996 - 2 1997 - 5 1998 - 7 1999 - 6 2000 - 2 2001 - 3 2002 - 12 2003 - 6 2004 - 7 2005 - 8 2006 - 4

100 (76) The Prodigy "Voodoo People" (1994)
I have to admit to going off The Prodigy a bit recently and this song would've dropped out too if it wasn't for the fantastic Pendulum remix.
099 (**) The Pipettes "Dirty Mind" (2006)
The standout track off one of my favourite albums of last year. A brilliant slice of catchy pop.
098 (**) Maximo Park "Apply Some Pressure" (2005)
I went off this song for a while as I'd played it so much. It was the only reason why it wasn't in last years chart. Makes a deserving entry this year though.
097 (17) Liam Lynch "United States Of Whatever" (2002) *FREEFALL*
The biggest faller in the chart. I do still love it but certainly not as much as I used to. I was shocked to see I had it as high as 17 last year.
096 (93) Pixies "Here Comes Your Man (1989)
Just a small fall for this song. They had two entries last year, this year they've 3.

095 (**) Blur "Villa Rosie" (1994)
They had three entries last year and have three again this year. "To The End" drops out and this enters. I bought it's parent album "Modern Life Is Rubbish" last year and this is my favourite song on it, now my favourite Blur album.
094 (**) Arcade Fire "Neighborhood #1 - Tunnels" (2005)
Another act with three entries. At the time of compiling last year "Rebellion (Lies)" was the only song I liked enough but a year on, the album still continues to get better all the time.
093 (97) Chemical Brothers "Setting Sun" (1996)
The first of what I think is 7 UK number ones to appear. The fourth track in a row which is the acts first of three. It's the same three as last year in the same order, but all have moved.
092 (**) Flaming Lips "Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots Part One" (2003)
I've always loved this song but it wasn't until I bought the album last year that I realised quite how special it is.
091 (**) Blondie "Call Me" (1980)
Blondie are an excellent band, and again, it wasn't until last year I realised how good they were. This is my favourite of theirs.

090 (**) The Walkmen "The Rat" (2004)
A song which was released nearly 3 years ago and just failed to make the top 40. I didn't think much of it then towards the end of the year it really started to grow on me. Shame they've never really done anything anywhere near as good.
089 (**) Primal Scream "(I'm Gonna) Cry Myself Blind" (1994)
The first of two new entries for this band. I bought their best of "Dirty Hits" last year and it's a fantastic compilation of songs. I generally prefer their older stuff but they've been extremely consistant throughout their career.
088 (39) Run DMC "It's Tricky" (1986)
In the past year I've gone off rap and hip-hop rather a lot. It's shown in this countdown as every song fitting into those genres falls apart from one.
087 (98) Roger Sanchez "Another Chance" (2001)
One of the greatest dance singles of the century which will always remind me of summer 2001.
086 (**) Richard Hawley "Coles Corner" (2005)
Title and standout track of his excellent 2005 album. It really is beautiful.

085 (**) McAlmont & Butler "Yes" (1995)
I know one or both of them were in a band but I can't remember who it was now. All I know is that I didn't like them much. It might be Suede, I think it is. This, however, is brilliant and should have far more recognition.
084 (79) Five "Keep On Movin'" (1999)
Five were one of the first acts I ever liked, which was surprising as I'd always hated 90s pop, even though I was a kid at the time. This has always been my favourite of theirs.
083 (18) Oasis "Acquiesce" (1996)
A huge fall for this song. It had been my favourite Oasis song for years, but its release last year as a single made it lose its magic for me. It is still a great song, I just don't like it as much as I did.
082 (**) Jenny Lewis With The Watson Twins "Melt Your Heart" (2006)
Rilo Kiley lead singer did a solo album last year and this is my favourite track on it. A lovely ballad which really shows how gorgeous her voice is.
081 (55) Muse "Butterflies & Hurricanes" (2003)
A fairly sizeable fall for a band which I seem to have gone off since they released their album last year. They had my number one last year but will they this year?
