This chart was actually compiled on Sunday but I didn't finish until quite late on Sunday night. I had a fairly big playlist, 36 this week, some of which therefore don't appear even in the bubblers, and I noted quite a few that didn't make it into the chart that you might have thought would. No time for links this week but I hope to introduce them again for the next chart.
A bit of a surprise perhaps that Turner Cody was #1 for just one week - the first one-week #1 since Blue October towards the end of last year. This week saw the closest battle at the top since last year when Iron Maiden narrowly beat Franz Ferdinand as they took over on the top. Herman Dune and Turner Cody are close mates - you'll find they recently toured together and mention each other on their sites. Adam Green's name also comes up - he seems to have influenced Herman Dune somewhat - well actually "I Wish That I Could See You Soon" bares a strong resemblance to his song "Emily" which reached NM #2 back in 2005.
This year has seen a number of foreign language singles reach the chart, the biggest to date being "Promis Q" by DAAN which peaked at #6. These have become eligible by being made available for download on 7Digital.com. Like DAAN, Dana Winner is from Belgium and "Als Je Lacht" literally means "If You Laugh". She has had multiple hit albums over the years in her native Belgium. She leads the way of 3 female singers taking the highest 3 entry positions in a generally male-dominated chart, and is a strong contendor for #1.
