As a pretty huge Avril fan, this is the moment I've been waiting for, for a very long time. Her comeback single 'Girlfriend' has leaked - not sure if I should post a link as it's not exactly legit as yet, and apparently her record label are not best pleased that the track is already on the net! Anyway.... it's been 2 years since Avril's last single, so, has it been worth the wait? No, it hasn't. The song is very much like 'He Wasn't', and that was easily the worst song on her last album! The song is catchy and very infectious, sadly the lyrics are pretty atrocious and this sounds like a huge step backwards after her last album took quite a mature direction. Oh, and Avril, unneccessary swearing isn't big, clever or funny! 'Girlfriend' is listenable IMO, but it's a very disapointing comeback. I hold out in hope that the album has more to offer. Anyone else heard it yet? Opinions?

Sorry to hear you didn't like the new single Doc. Oh, and 'Keep Holding On' was a song Avril wrote and recorded for the film Eragon, it'll also be on her new album.

It opens like Toni Basil's 1982 hit "Mickey", then gets progressively worse.

It's pure rubbish it's a mix between Toni Basil's hit Mickey and Gwen Stefani's Halloback Girl. Just hoping the album will be better than this ****

Sra Cox played it last night and it is truly awful, Mickey by Toni Basle was a good song in it's time, this is dreadful. Sounds like Lolly meets Daphne & Celeste. And if she has reinvented herself as a teen idol, it's just mansonable, I always liked that she did her own thing and tried not to be like the teen princesses. They should pull this and release keep holding on.

Some interesting comments here. Bad, but interesting. Any thoughts on how this is going to do?? I have no idea, I think it will either be a massive flop and kill her career stone dead, or it'll be a huge hit and do better than 'Complicated'.

The regular fans will steer clear probably. The chavs will no doubt love it though and could do well on downloads but I don't think the album will sell well (at first at least) I hope it does well just because I'd hate to think a wrong single choice could kill her career.

I like the verses but that chorus is just horrible.
