I recently bought this album and I have to say, it's pretty awful. I never really liked the singles, so I didn't pick it up until now, but to me it only has ONE good song... the title track: Enjoy Yourself! This song is AMAZING, why the hell wasn't it released as a single? If the other tracks were more like this, then it would've been a really solid album. Shame! What do you think of this CD?

Why was she given such average material for this album? Sonia and Rick Astley had some better songs at the time! You'll Never Stop Me From Loving You was superb.

Probably because they knew she could sell it.

It's my second favourite Kylie album and by far her best with SAW in my opinion . It has three fantastic singles: HOYH (my favourite Kylie song ever ) I Wouldn't Change A Thing Never Too Late And the most consistently great album tracks of any SAW album. I love 'Heaven and Earth' and 'Enjoy Yourself' the best. I think you need to listen to it more. It's a grower. They were going for a more sophisticated approach, trying to show that she really could sing. It's one of my favourite albums of all time and I think it stands up well today. I'm really surprised you didn't like it. What a shame.

This is my no 1 Kylie album. I absolutely love it! Okay so my judgement may be clouded by nostalgia, but that can't account for all of it. I love "Nothing To Lose" and all the ones Lola mentioned. The singles were stunning! And let's not forget "My Secret Heart". Just simple yet well written pop songs - you can't go wrong.

'My Secret Heart' is heaven! I think 'Nothing To Lose' was considered as a single at one stage, it's another gem. Actually, the only song on the album I don't like is "Tears On My Pillow". Apart from that I think it's flawless pop.

Its actually my least favourite PWL album too, not sure why, I just wasn't keen on that whole era.
Same with Madfonna's True Blue era, hated the look, the songs, the videos.
Funny though, as both eras led to fab times, Kylie's ROL and Madonna's LIP!!

Enjoy Yourself is one of my least favourite Kylie albums. I don't think it has aged as well as the other PWL albums, several of the tracks seem rushed and it is a bit too short (the US / CA versions with EY are a better length and one more song on them would have been perfect).
Tell Tale Signs is fabulous and should have been a single instead of TOMP...

I think it's pretty dire too, especially Tears On My Pillow, Tell Tale Sights, My Secret Heart, and Heaven And Earth! It's so poor compared to her debut. I like Enjoy Youself best too, and I Wouldn't Change A Thing & Hand On Your Heart. Over Dreaming Over You is good, but the remix on the b-side to Better The Devil You Know is a million times better. SAW generally rushed albums, they only cared about singles IMO, hence so many single remixes and little tweaks and things.

Personally I think EY is great. HOYH is one of the finest moments in pop. From what I understand EY was gonna be a single but shafted for tears On my Pillow coz it tied in with the cinematic classic the Delinquents

Back in '89 I was disappointed with the album. Her debut was SO good with album tracks being even better than the uk singles so it was a tough act to follow. 'Enjoy Yourself' only has three stand out tracks - Enjoy Yourself,Hand On Your Heart, and I'm Over Dreaming (Over You).
I hate that gold hat on the cover. The cover always makes me think of Madama Tuassauds (sp) waxwork that she had made around that time.I see that cover and I see a waxwork.
I believe that 'Enjoy Yourself ' would have been another number one single (instead of a forgotten album track) if it had been given the chance.

I have the US edition, with this cover: I think I actually prefer the one with the golden hat. Fav tracks beside the singles are Nothing to lose and Enjoy yourself. And I have been known for crooning along to Tell tale signs, but that's a long time ago

It looks even better on the LP and the Longbox. ;D

I agree with Poodle. I think the US version is vile. I love the gold hat! I (still) have a t-shirt with that image on it. LOL - no wonder I was bashed the last time I wore it out of the house!
