She certainly is the name to drop at the moment, Radio 1 must mention her every 20 seconds as it is. I like the singles she has done so far, I just fear at this rate she may suffer the overhype and be a disappointment when she does start getting the hits.

I like her lots. She's a good talent and I look forward to her stuff in the new year.

I bet she comes #1 on that talent to watch for in 2008, that the bbc do.

Wouldn't surprise me to be honest.
Duffy is another one Radio 1 have been harping on about recently as well. Jury is still out on her at the moment - I wasn't too keen on Rockferry.

Yeah "Rockferry" was a little dull. This isn't as good as her debut single, but I'm sure it will do well - with no doubt some heavy Radio 1 support. She's already won a Brit? How? She hasn't even had a single hit yet.

What exactly have they critiqued? I can understand rewarding genuine talent, but when they've little or nothing to base it upon it makes me become very skeptical. Basically it's just an award paid for by the industry to boost another artists career.

She was the only one who gave feedback on their Myspace account.

Ah, thanks MK. Oh - so that's the point of the award, oops. I still don't understand how they judged it.

This is really good, could actually be a surprise #1 hit, when Jan Sales are pretty low.

I have heard Chasing Pavements a couple of times, and I am just not warming to it all, yet it has all the right elements to a song that should have me completely fawning over it.
There is something about it that I find awkward, and I can't put my finger on it.

What "first single"? When? iTunes doesn't seem to know of any previous singles. 7-digital doesn't either and I don't know if HMV do either.
What is the use of releasing a single that doesn't get listed anywhere? I thought I covered pretty much every known single last year but it's impossible. They want people to buy stuff and don't let them know it exists?

oh I see, very clever. Limited edition 7" only, so anyone with just a computer and ability to play CDs has no way of playing it.

Not keen on it. Nothing special at all.
