Just listened to this in the car, not bad, maybe not as good as power, corruption and lies though, I do like Guilty partner, and Vanishing point though.

Hmmm, not my favourite of New Order albums I must admit. Fine Time is OK, but as a whole, I never really got into this one. Now if we are talking Republic!......

I think Fine time is the only track i know from this album. Their earlier stuff never got released in SA, and i had to buy songs like Blue Monday and World in motion on import.

Crystal was from Get Ready, which was released in 2001. I missed that album for some reason, but did get Waiting For Sirens Call, which had the wonderful Jetstream on it.

I know the older bro has it, and is one of the bands we do agree on! Jetstream, yep, was Ana Matronic! Bizarre Love Triangle is another one of theirs which is an utterly great song. I was more into their later material than the earlier output. Regret, World The Price Of Love, and Ruined In A Day were all great tracks from the Republic album. But I do hate to say, I'm really really not a great fan of Blue Monday.

Oh I loved their early stuff as well, BM, Confusion, Perfect kiss, shellshock, state of the nation, also adore bizarre love triangle, I went off them a bit until Crystal. I have a lot of their early stuff on 12" and/or 7", doubt it's worth anything, one of those bands I bought the singles from every time!

This is a great album! It shows New Order's attempts to experiement with acid house and early dance music and I think it works really well. "Fine Time", "Round & Round" and "Mr Disco" are all favourites of mine.

This is my favorite New Order album, I love it start to finish. It was influenced by the time they spent on a previously not very well known Balearic island called Ibiza.
Mr Disco is one of my all time faves... it should have been a single.
I used to think about you night and day I used to feel what language cannot say
It's always hard to decipher the meaning behind New Order songs but I remember reading that this was about meeting someone in Ibiza, and then losing them, and not being able to move on. Listen to the lyric: The holiday we spent together, lives with me now and forever. And of course the final lines, which are whispered at the end, seem to confirm it: Ibiza, Majorca, and Benidorm too. I've searched all these places, but never found you.
