Anyone else a fan of this 90's Electronica Act? or do you hate them?

I do like them, but dont have any albums by them. I had Wandering Star on a Q compilation and loved it! Also do like sour times and glory box, I thought they were back with new stuff in 2008?

I've got 'Dummy', and it really is quite wonderful. I'm a big fan of this type of music.

Unless Hilloverkill wants to dedicate it to purely a Portishead "Dummy" thread, otherwise I will move.

Sour times rings a bell. I don't really know much of their other stuff. Didn't the lead singer bring out some solo material a couple of years ago? I think her name is Beth?

They released two albums - Dummy and Portishead. Both made no.2 in the album charts although the first far outsold the second. The first album had better songs - Numb, Glorybox, It's A Fire and the haunting Roads. The second album was scarier in some parts but didn't have many tunes - it was more atmospheric. The track Cowboys is probably one of the most disturbing songs I've ever heard. Must dig their CDs out - haven't heard them for a couple of years!

I only have Dummy on CD, but bought the singles from the second CD. Mysterons is one my favourite album openers, great song. But All Mine is the best of the singles for me. I'm most interested in some new material from them!

I thought they were back with new stuff in 2008? yeah they are but I am refering to their older stuff, I have Beth Gibbons solo work its quite a good listen... I have been listening to their 2 albums (1994 and 1997 respectively) So it counts as 90's retro as the self titled portishead album is now a decade old. I cant get enough of it! I do love a bit of Trip-Hop

saw them live a month ago... they are great musicians and the voice is one in a million... a bit boring of a gig tho i must confess (but their first in many, many years so I'll forgive them)

I've only got Dummy, such a haunting album well worthy of it's Mercury Prize. Best tracks on it are Sour Times, Wandering Star, Numb, Biscuit and Glory Box. Can't wait to hear the new stuff.
