Dry County became Bon Jovi's only NM #1, and then it was replaced by Meat Loaf's "Objects In The Rear View Mirror". Both of these are among the longest songs ever to top my chart.
Isn't Dry County the longest UK top 10 hit too?

I remember buying the following (except for Enigma, but I learnt to love it later) : The Sign – Ace Of Base - The song that made me buy their album ! Ur The Best Thing – D:Ream - My fav D:Ream single.I was in their fan club What A Man – Salt N’ Pepa Return To Innocence - Enigma - Love the backwards video ! Whispering Your Name – Alison Moyet - Will always be my fav Alison song. The video with Dawn French is so funny Linger – The Cranberries - I liked this, and their next single was even better. Could It Be I’m Falling In Love – Worlds Apart - Not as good as the original but still a good effort.Surprised the Uk girlies didn't lap up Worlds Apart. Things Can Only Get Better – D:Ream - I got a bit fed up of this one in the end but it's still a good track. Breathe Again – Toni Braxton. Again – Janet Jackson

Even just 13 years ago almost all the tracks in the top 40 were half-decent unlike most of the rubbish today.
Favs were Ace Of Base, Toni Braxton and IMO Mariah's Without You was better than Nilsson.

I bought the following singles, and some commentry whilst I am in a commenting mood: Doop – Doop - I utterly adore Doop, and have recently found out that it makes my dog bark when its played. The Sign – Ace Of Base - FABULOUS.Girls And Boys - Blur - The Pet Shop Boys remix of this song is great, it featured on the b-side of To The End. To The End however is pants.I Like To Move It – Reel 2 Real - The novelty of this wore of very quickly, and would be equally as happy if I never heard it again.Shine On – Degrees Of Motion - Great dance tune, Do You Want It Right Now was slightly better however.I Believe – Marcella Detroit - I rather liked this single, and the album Jewel was OK too. Never really listened to much else, but Shakespears Sister were ace.Sleeping In My Car - Roxette - Not the greatest of Roxette singles, but I liked it nonetheless. Wasn't very keen on the Mobius Loop cover version however.Whispering Your Name – Alison Moyet - The stand out track from the fabulous Essex. Plus it had Dawn French in the video, so it was a winner all round for me really.Linger – The Cranberries - I either loved or hated Cranberries singles, nothing in between. I always worried that because Linger rhymed with Fish Finger, it would end up in a Birds Eye advert. It didn't, but I think it was used in a DFS one.Only To Be With You - Roachford - Roachford's third album was great, I also really liked the single The Way I Feel.Things Can Only Get Better – D:Ream - This single makes me cringe nowadays, but I still like Party Up The World. Plus Peter Cunnah was HOT.Pretty Good Year – Tori Amos - I loved the video to this song. But then I love all the Tori videos.Loser - Beck - Not usually my cup of tea, but liked it. I somehow knew that I would dislike the album, but bought it anyway - it was awful

Poor Tori dropping 22 places. Mind you - those were the days when she had two consecutive top 10 hits.

What a great top 10 apart from that awful #1, Ace Of Base - The Sign should have been #1 they were robbed.
Likes Ace Of Base - The Sign Bruce Springsteen - Streets Of Phildelphia Mariah Carey - Without You Blur - Girls And Boys Reel 2 Reel - I Like To Move It Salt N' Pepa - Whatta Man Bon Jovi - Dry Country (not his best Livin' On Prayer holds that honaur) Marcella Detroit - I Believe (should have been top 10) M People - Renaissance (Loved this group) Roxette - Sleeping In My Car (again should have made top 10) Brand New Heavies - Dream On Dreamer Alision Moyet - Whispering Your Name (A true legend an icon even, so different to the female singers that come out these days) The Cranberries - Linger (All time classic) Jimmy Cliff - I Can See Clearly Now Toni Braxton - Breathe Again (another great singer where is she now) Don’t Go Breaking My Heart – Elton John & Rupaul (not as good as the original version but still fun though Again – Janet Jackson (a awesome track of her's why don't she sing stuff like this anymore instead of the awful stuff she does now) All For Love – Bryan Adams/Rod Stewart/Sting
Hate Doop - Doop (the stupidist song ever) Dream - Things Can Only Get Better (annoying and boring)
And the rest I don't know haven't heard or can't remember them
