So indie music is now dominating the singles chart

I think there's 2 reasons why it will.

Firstly the increase in downloads has really helped the popularity of indie songs as most of them sell well on downloads nowadays.

Secondly the rise in vinyl singles is largely because fans buy the singles as collectors items. For these bands vinyls seem to beas popular as Cds though this does depends on how well the vinyl is stocked.

I dont agree that all indie acts do well on downloads, only those that are mainstream, killers, kaisers, coldplay, etc, smaller acts do not seem to benefit at the moment.
