I just bought 'Origin Of Symmetry' last week which has quickly become one of my favourite albums. The lead single off this one is really quite good, so the album might be my next purchase.

Can't wait till I buy it on Monday. I don't think they've released a fantastic album although OOS and Absolution were very good. This one seems to be a bit late 90s Kula Shaker vibe - if anyone in the world apart from me owns Peasants, Pigs and Astronauts!

It is better than I expected, certainly better than the material from the other bands to make a return this year (Snow Patrol, RHCP etc).
Current rankings:
Take A Bow 08 Starlight 10 Supermassive Black Hole 09 Map Of The Problematique 10 Soldier's Poem 05 Invincible 06 Assassin 08 Exopolitics 07 City Of Delusion 08 Hoodoo 07 Knights Of Cydonia 09

Is the lowish rating because it sounds almost identical tunewise to Keane's Everybody's Changing? Nah, for me, I'm not really getting this album. You would have thought that a band of their talent would really push the boat out one of these days and produce something that raises the hair on the back of the neck etc... but apart from a few newish discoey sounds it's IDENTICAL to their previous album albeit with less good tunes as 'Time is Running Out', 'Backfire' and 'Butterflies and Hurricanes' Disappointing

Just heard Knights of Cydonia on thorney's radio show, and are they taking the pish out of Queen or deliberately trying to sound like them?

Just heard Knights of Cydonia on thorney's radio show, and are they taking the pish out of Queen or deliberately trying to sound like them? That song reminds me of something off Kula Shaker's second flop album 'Pigs Peasant and Astronauts'. I think the album is too immature for them... I'm not saying they should go down the Kid A route but it is possible to create an artistic masterpiece and yet sell well through word of mouth. They should grow up basically - Origin of Symmetry which is about 4 years old sounds more mature and accomplished than this.
