Just got a listen to this album last night, to start with there werent many tracks that grabbed me instantly, it feels like 'in the morning' is the standout track, but also 'pop song 2006' and 'kirbys house' are great as well. the whole thing is bound to be a grower.

Sometimes an album that grows is better than one that hits you between the eyes?

It's got amazing reviews - but I really thought the first single was nothing that special. Not really the type of album I would buy.

kirbys house is average to, they must be desperate to include a charity song

Got 5 in Q which is an amazing rating for a new album as not many albums get that, the mark of a Q Classic. Heard America a few weeks ago and liked it instantly, and In the Morning (despite its similarities to 2-4-6-8 Motorway) is catchy too, albeit overplayed. I'm definately going to buy the album before I go on holiday.
Like the Muse album some fans think it doesnt flow that well, suggesting their more of a singles band than album band now. Interesting views really, as both bands have released their albums after massive hits.

It's a good album actually, "In The Morning" is probably one of the worst tracks on it.
I love "Kirby's House" and "Who Needs Love?"

its just not as rocky as i would of liked, the first single was average (but a grower) and including "Kirby's House" is just damn strange, its like they had no other decent songs so threw it on
its good but i expected more

its prehaps because it wasnt written until a few weeks before it had to be submitted, you can tell that it is rushed

Maybe it'll grow on you. Agreed on Q reviews being a bit rubbish sometimes though. Red Hot Chili Peppers got 5 stars?! WtF?

It's nothing special, only 35 mins or whatever and it's over in a flash.
People will buy anything the NME tell them to, I hope this band will just f-off. Johnny Borrell is an agnorrant tw*t.

What a huge disappointment this is. Most of the songs sound the same and I dont think any of the tracks compare to the first album. Johnny has clearly gone up his own arse. I'm very surprised that it got such good reviews, the only bad one i saw was on cd-wow, which summed my feelings up nicely.
