Anyone a fan - I think they folded when a member of the band died.
I thought it was so not my kind of music as it was just 'noise' but I was in a pub in Camden the other day which was playing it and really got into it - so much energy to it.
Wouldn't mind getting a couple of CDs - any recommendations?

I think they folded when a member of the band died. a bit of an understatement! A crazed fan killed Dimebag Darrell a few years ago while he was playing with his new band as the fan blamed him for Pantera breaking up. He came in and just unloaded a gun into him and got a few bystanders as well. It's a f***ed up world people! Anyways.. i've actually seen them live. I think they were opening for Ministry when I saw them 10ish years ago. If you like any metal then this is a band for you. One of the best ever by a good margin. ...but not really my cup of tea. The closest I got to this kind of stuff was industrial and some of the more accessible metal (helmet etc). Most people think Vulgar Display of Power is their best album FYI followed by Cowboys From Hell.

Thanks IndieE - yes I did hear about that event. Made big news. Seriously Andy - it just has such an atmosphere to it. Nothing wrong with a bit of variety in one's life.

(funny enough I pulled out 'a mind is a terrible thing to taste' a couple weeks ago - turned up the stereo and p*ssed off the neighbors. was a great afternoon)
