I see they get alot of flack off people but i was recently played silver side up and all the right reasons and enjoyed them, but they seem to be the figure of ridicule even though they are highly successful

it's mostly yanks that HATE them so much (and yes, i am one of those people) but it's because they are so generic and like every other bar band in the US... totally predicatable and boring. Kinda like oasis to people in the UK with the huge backlash they get (sorry, fist band that came to mind)

Dull & Boring North American rock act. Have never done anything decent. Agreed ' How You Remind Me' is extremely irritating!

eurgh.
admittedly i used to like 'how you remind me' and bought 'silver side up' on the strength of it, but haven't played it once since the year it came out and haven't liked anything they've come up with since. to be filed with other insipid american nu-metal-pop and forgotten.

Dull North American rock, doesn't inspire much and has only limited UK success.

I think they're one of the worst rockbands ever... All their songs sound the same and there are millions of bands that sound exactly like them... They are so generic...

They're dull and pretty much pointless in the music industry.

I don't mind any of their songs individually, but it's awfully repetitive. And as if to prove a point, this is brilliant if you've never heard it before: "How You Remind Me of Someday" (their two biggest hits played one on top of the other!) To their credit though, I saw them supporting Bon Jovi last summer and they're a pretty good live act, and I was surprised how many songs I knew.
