Due out : 29th August
PRESS RELEASE 'It's Always a Blue Sky Day' is a remake of the classic hardcore dance anthem 'Blue Sky Day'. Originally inspired by the Ragga Twins and Shut Up and Dance, Lomac penned 'Blue Sky Day' back in 1993. The single was an immediate success on the Kiss FM Breakfast Show and was played solidly each day for over three weeks. After making it onto the classic Rave Generation compilation album the single remained a sought after white label until now, where the original mix has been remastered and included on the CD and vinyl promos.
With the resurgence this year of the hardcore dance scene, especially in the North of England and Scotland, the single is aimed at today's Alco-pop children of the rave generation. Now is an ideal time for the single to be given a make-over. The video is a '1984' George Orwell style tongue in cheek animation with an unforgettable lead character.
Lomac are Ian Lodge and Patrick McMahon whose original tracks formed part of the embryonic drum and bass scene of 1994 which were signed to cutting edge label Sour Records. Success followed with production and co-writes for artists such as Elizabeth Troy, Loggie, Shy FX, T Power, to name but a few. Lomac also had a big club hit in 1999 with 'Prairie Man' working with Seb Fontaine and Danny Tenaglia on mixes. Their song writing credits include Sugar Babes, Atomic Kitten, as well as productions for Shola Ama, D Shaun and Labbelle.
With mixes from Resonance Q, and an Ultrabeat-style Club mix as well as the original remastered 1993 Hardcore mix, the single looks set to make everybody's sky a bit more blue this summer.
