Mika – Love Today
Got to admit, I really loved Mikas number one song "Grace Kelly" when it came out and was so looking forward to hearing this one.
This song hasnt let me down. It is 3 mins and 57 seconds of a great pop camp song.
I couldnt help but think this is a scissor sisters track when I shut my eyes, with the high pitched singing and gay as you come lyrics. Constant "Everybodys Gotta Love today" lyric repeated makes this a catchy pop song.

Sunblock feat Sandy – Baby Baby
If anyone is as old as me, then you will remember this number 5 hit for Corona back in 1995. Sunblock will be hoping for their 3rd top 10 hit with this cover, but in my opinion, they may struggle.
There is not much difference between this version and the original and after "I'll be ready" and "First Time", I think the public are getting a bit tired of these makeovers.

Tiesto feat Christian Burns - In The Dark
I was apprehensive about this track, as I havent heard much of Tiesto and didnt think his music would be my scene.
But, how wrong was I. This is a really good track. Christians voice is excellent on this and with Tiestos music in the background (which reminds me of a robert miles number?) this has the making to be a hit. I would hope this track gives tiesto his first top ten hit, who knows even number one.

Travis – Closer
Scotlands finest return with a new single from their new album due out on the 7th of may called "Boy with no name" called "Closer"
Closer is a nice ballad and very pleasant to listen to. After a few listens to, I find myself really loving this one. Not as catchy as driftwood or why does it always rain on me, but it does have a similar impact, especially with the chorus " Just need to get Closer closer, lean on me now, lean on me now, closer closer, lean on me now lean on me now.
In my opion, this should give Travis their first top 5 since "Sing" reached number 3 in 2001.

The View – The Don / Skag Trendy
Two scottish bands single release in one week, oh how the scots are getting into it. Dundees finest release their follow up to the ever so catchy "Same Jeans" as a double A-side and what a let down.
I feel this isnt as catchy as "Same jeans" and will leave people disappointed who were expecting the same form as what was used on "Same jeans".
Both songs are from the Album "Hats Off to the Buskers" and if you were going to buy this single, save your money and get the album.
"The Don" has a catchy beat, but the lyrics are weak, and to me dont have much meaning. As for Skag Trendy, well the title will give you a clue about the song and its sh*te.
