I figured that it would fit better here than in the chart forum. Thank goodness for Alternative radio - a haven to where UK indie bands got excellent regular play while they were shafted by commercial radio. U.S. Alternative Chart History/Billboard Modern Rock HistoryA place for loads of chart history on the Billboard Alternative/Modern Rock chart from acts like: Charlatans Primal Scream Stone Roses Morrissey Smiths Oasis Blur Radiohead Elastica Suede Waterboys Echo & The Bunnymen Verve Etc...

i have my doubts on this list.. Pavement only had 1 hit and 1 top 10.. on college radio.. no feckin way. then i look at pearl jam and they had like 30. Obv PJ were more popular etc, but pavement are one of the primary US indie bands and they were played more than PJ on any (self respecting) College Radio station.
Confirmed - Violent Femmes with only 3 singles? They MADE US college radio....
oh... this is the The Billboard Modern Rock Chart Artist Database. never mind.. they are pointless to wory about. nothing to do with College radio... it will only have songs that got into or close to the main charts but were still considered alternative or indie (for whatever reason - usually a wrong one...)

Thanks for the link! it will only have songs that got into or close to the main charts but were still considered alternative or indie (for whatever reason - usually a wrong one...) The Modern Rock chart isn't just an 'indie' subset of the Hot 100, though, it's what alternative radio stations are playing.
