...bought an album, played it once, hated it and shoved it away, only to dig it out a few months (in my case over a year) later and fall in love with it? this happened to me with 'the boy with no name' by travis. i can't believe how i could have missed what an amazing album it is possibly their best ever! there are probably loads of great CDs sitting at the back of my shelves waiting for me to remember them...

Yes I've done that recently with It Won't Be Soon Before Long by Maroon 5.

REM's 'Up' definitely springs to mind for me. I hated it on first listen, but now it's arguably my favourite album of theirs.

Yes. The one that springs to mind is Panic At The Disco - Pretty Odd. I hated this one first listen. It just was nowhere near as good as their debut 'A Fever You Can't Sweat Out'.
In August I gave it another listen I soon found myself humming along to the tunes without even realizing I was doing it. And now I love it. You can tell they were listing to The Beatles when they made this album.

Yes with Sam's Town by The Killers. Bought Hot Fuss cheap in a sale and loved it so got Sam's Town when it came out. Played it twice I think and not keen. Dug it out last week after a couple of people said they preferred it to Hot Fuss and love it now! Oh and yes The Boy With No Name is a great album Jade. Glad I bought it, shame it only sold around 117k.

i know, it's a shame their sales seem to have plummeted over the past few years '12 memories' wasn't great but it didn't deserve to flop the way it did. have you heard the new album yet chris?

No I haven't Jade. Debating whether or not to buy it as they say it's a much heavier sound, back to their early sound of first album Good Feeling. Wasn't too keen on that. I liked 12 Memories too but it was widely dissed by critcs and fans.

i'm of the same opinion; i will wait for a few more singles before buying i think. i know everyone raves about 'good feeling' but i've never thought it was their best album. for me it's between 'the man who' and 'the boy with no name', with 'the invisible band' just behind...

it was overplayed... i didn't like it that much around when it was out for that reason, but since then i've come to think of it as one of their best songs. the video was great, too
