He's willing to pay abroad, I think most people would be on the pay packet he receives! I think he has royally screwed the LA Galaxy team, and at the proper end of his career, I hope the US teams refuse to sign him again, I know they wont though. Yes he might be playing well, but that's in a good side, in the US he was pretty hopeless. I hope he can do it for England occasionally, but we have to look to the future imo... Are we playing in Spain, more racist chanting then! I agree with mrh and Mark on the Beckham debate, enjoyed reading his autobiography a few years ago (as i mentioned on here at the time), although most of it wasnt anything new. Thing is we are looking to the future, even without Walcott being available he hasn't started lately and won't tonight as it seems Wright-Phillips will play. I don't actually think Lennon has been that bad recently, and i've seen a lot of him, certainly prefer him to Bentley who is just a poor man's Beckham imo...Young would be the best alternative imo but he's needed more on the left. I notice BBC3 have got the rights for the Milan derby on Sunday. It may be purely because of Beckham, but its a good excuse for me to watch a Serie A match for the first time since prob the start of last season! Oh, and i agree about the Spain thing, havent a clue why we've agreed to play there. That'll be one thing to look forward to tonight

england always perform well against spain, even ugo ehiogu scored against them although they have possibly the strongest team they have ever had i still don't rate their defence and puyol is out injured anyway hmmm im going to go for 2-2 It is a defence that's conceded 1 goal in its last 9 games... or you could say its the same defence david healy scored a hatrick against minus their best player im guessing it will be ramos...marchena...albiol/Juanito...capdevila which to me does not look as strong as the rest of the team. but the rest of the team is very very strong and a team defends as a team, torres and villa are such a threat up front teams don't commit as many people forward hence they don't concede many, another factor is they have one of the best keepers in the world in casillas. with puyol out injured i can see us scoring 2. we will see i guess

It is a defence that's conceded 1 goal in its last 9 games... or you could say its the same defence david healy scored a hatrick against minus their best player Except it isn't. Of those you've listed, only Ramos played against NI and he went off at half-time in that game.

Looks pretty good . So glad Agbonlahor has his chance to show off his talent . Straight 442? or is there a diamond shape?

it wudnt surprise me if his pass completion ratio was 0% for the first half, his crossing certainly was. im sure he closes his eyes when he crosses the ball

I thought Jagielka did alright, although he did get skinned for the goal. He certainly saved James when he cocked-up!
We certainly weren't at our best tonight. Downing, SWP and Crouch offered nothing. Beckahm again proved that despite his age he's still much better than the alternatives! James was shocking too, Green for number one, until Kirkland comes out of his temporary retirement.

I only saw about half the game last night so I can't comment on individual performances but it sounded like we were simply outclassed by the best team in the world right now.
It's not unexpected and it gives us an idea of the level we need to be at if we're going to be contenders for the World Cup. The key thing is keeping possession. England haven't been able to do that for years and whilst there's been improvement under Capello there's obviously room for more. I do wonder if the performance may have been better if this game had been at the end of last year in place of the Germany game. The winter break may have killed some of the momentum we had...

Glen Johnson had one good tackle at the start then should have come off.
SWP was man of the match, spec in second half, he defended several great times, showed enthusiasm and committment and had a good opening which he should have done a little better with. Agbonalor didn't show his skill, he needs to run at people, he didn't get that chance. Beckham was per usual, the motivated one. Green, altho a Norwich ex-player, I support, he is very good, and is far superior then James. Such a shame he injured himself when he played last time, otherwise he could have macde himself #1 by now. Jagelka was ok, Terry was alright, but the Villa goal showed up the lack of experience and the talent of Villa.
Cole was the quiet one getting on with things, he was alright, except he lost the ball a few too many times and left himself open.
Overal, not that great, altho the French ref wasn't the best. How was heskey offside when he was fouled in the box. = penalty, BAD reffing.

One thing worth pointing out regarding Downing is he never seems to play well when Ashley Cole is at left-back.
In the Germany game, when Downing played very well, Wayne Bridge was in the side.

Can't believe Darren Bent is never in that squad, the number one goalscorer in the premiership for 3 seasons and is still shuned! But I'm glad abgon is in it. Plays very well for AV. Where does this myth about Bent come from? He's been the top English scorer in the Premier League once and that was 3 years ago. And he's also not in the best of form atm.. Any predictions for tonight? I'd love to see England win but Spain are world #1 and haven't lost in over 2 years (28 games!) and I think they might sneak it 1-0. That was the score i was expecting, still disappointing though as we were completely outplayed. Saw the match while out last night but didn't really have much interest as was feeling generally sh*t and also missed the 1st goal (surprise, surprise!) as it happened to be the one time i went to the loo during the game! Had more interest in the 2nd half but was distracted through playing pool.. Beckham played the best ball of the game to Cole in the 2nd half, shame Cole couldnt score, though i didnt think he would...

Ferdinand was missing through illness which explains his absence, but it completely baffles me why Young isnt getting a chance. He's probably been the in-form winger this season and he didnt even come on last night
