Ipswich winger Luciano Civelli (22 yrs old) was injured at Burnley on 17th March, now is able to start his long recovery back, with the hope he will be back in the new year. He suffered suffered extensive knee ligament damage.
In other news, Ipswich Town midfielder Liam Trotter is set to reject a new deal with the club in order to join Scunthorpe United, a fee would be required, maybe by tribunal.
Also, 19-year-old Ipswich midfielder Ed Upson has signed a new one-year deal.

So many friendlies!
Carling Cup Round 1 is w.c. 12th August, by the way.
What do you think of Richard Wright? He was Arsenal goalie for a few years in the early 00's, but never really settled, didn't manage to displace Seaman and is remembered more for errors than anything else. Is Edward Upson any relation to Matthew?

Oh, ok, Carling cup is rather a low priority cup for Ipswich, we never go past R2. Richard Wright is actually Ipswich born and bred, we shouldn't have let him go and he shouldn't have ever gone, he has never played like he did for us in his first spell. Edward Upson I do not know, although Matthew Upson is also from this part of the world I believe, I will go and check out Edward Upson out now. www.itfc.co.uk/page/ProfilesDetail/0,,10272~40683,00.html I'm still none the wiser, I doubt he is as Matthew Upson is now mid-late 20's. Recent news: Ipswich beat Stevenage 3-0 in a friendly. Doesn't say much tbh.

You're playing friendlies already? Pre-season training hasn't even started yet! I remember Ipswich beating us in the League Cup third round, might have been the year you were in Europe, so started in the 3rd round anyway

I think it was more a special match, but yeh, friendlies starts in 2 weeks time for us tractor boys. If not before if a new friendly is arranged.
That is probably the best we've ever done in Carling Cup. We don't do cups, FA Cup we get to 4th round if lucky. But I am rather excited that we have a new manager, even if Magilton wasn't that bad, and we have a new emphasis of trying to be promoted not just get over the relegation line and get comfy mid table.

Hmm, he seems to have done very well at his loan clubs, maybe perfect choice for us. We need a nippy winger.
I am leaving all decisions on Keane's signings til i have seen the team in the new season work together.

Hmm, he seems to have done very well at his loan clubs, maybe perfect choice for us. We need a nippy winger. He really didn't. He's been on loan to 3 Championship clubs in the past two seasons as well as Stoke, not one of them were linked with signing him permanantly. When he played for Forest he regularly couldn't even get into the matchday 16 of an injury hit team at the bottom of the league!! His last game was at the end of November and he didn't go back until mid January, he wasn't inured and there was almost no call from fans for him to play either. If he spent as much time concentrating on football as he does on his hair he might be a decent player...

Maybe Geographically but football skill, nope . He was playing in the Belgian League, not Serie A. Probably about on a par with the Championship, anyway...

Aye. But Forest were league below us until last season, but as you say Belguin league is same as Champ, which is why I said he seemed to do OK in Belguim, got a player award.

But that was 3 years ago...
Maybe Roy Keane's managerial philosophy regarding Man U is similar to Graeme Souness's for Rangers:
"He used to play for Rangers... he MUST be good!"

heh, I do wonder that, but sometimes its best to stick with who you knew from experience.
We will see what happens, all very exciting and nervous all at the same time.

Danny Haynes has left the club Althou he only ever socred against Norwich and now they are too rubbish for second tier football we dont need Haynes I spose XD. Coming in is 2 new academy players, one being the son of an old Ipswich player and the other being already given a faull cap by his home country Bermuda.

Haynes (I take it you were saying about Thatcher taking lumps out of Haynes?) is a big lad, so maybe not so easy as you think .
